Hey guys, out of curiosity what gives a Flamenco guitar that orange-ish tint to it?

I have seen many blanca guitars and they all either have the "Yellow" colour to it, or the "Orange" colour to it. Is it the finish, or the grade of wood that gives it that colour? Or is it something else?

I simply love the look of orange tinted flamenco guitars, I have seen german spruce tops that have that orange look to them, but I have also seen some that have a yellow tint. I have been trying to figure it out but I can't really find anything on it

Thanks for clarifying!

Cheers!

The orange is a tint or dye added to the lacquer. Yellow can be the same or orange shellac (usually more amber). Some guitars are clear coated and look almost white.

Thanks! I wonder if I can get my Navarro with this orange dye in the lacquer [:D]

cRobson12:

I have seen Navarros with the Orange tint. I am sure Francisco will satify your request.
