Phil -> Niño Miguel for M. Cho (Aug. 20 2003 0:02:19)

Michael, A while back you posted some comments about Niño Miguel. I couldn't find the original post , so I'm starting a new thread. I dug through my old cassettes and finally found one with Niño Miguel on it. As I said before, I lost the original LP along with about 30 others during a house move. I have part of his first LP recorded on a crummy old cassette. I haven't listened to that one in 20 years and had completely forgotten about him until your post. Upon relistening to it today I have to say that the guy is (was) incredibly good. I had his 1st LP which was released just after PdL did "Fuente y Cuadal" and Niño Miguel's LP is kind of a copy of that. Is it available on CD or did you hear someone elses copy? If it's still in print I highly recommend that people here check him out. For those of you who aren't familiar with Niño Miguel, in the early '70s many people thought that he would be the next PdL. He released 2 solo albums and then had some knd of mental breakdown. He's probably about 50 years old now and it's said that you can sometimes find him playing on the streets in Huelva. It's really sad, as the guy was a super talented guitarist on a level with PdL. I'm 99% sure that he is Tomatito's uncle. Can anyone here verify that? Phil
