dararith -> RE: Bulerias count in 3's and 6's (Jan. 6 2011 20:42:12)

I personally use foot tapping as a time measurement to feel the groove/pulse of the compas. I like tapping in even amounts, whether it's 2's, 3's, 6's because it is consistent and I can feel the time better that way (more than I ever can with 12's). By this logic, I don't think it's a problem to tap in 3's. Do be wary of the contras in your falseta and where your foot is at the time. The foot doesn't necessarily have to land on the accent if it's not meant to, but it should be a good place holder so that YOU know where you are in the compas and not change the tempo.
