Elie -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 6 2011 10:19:47)

I suggest you mean Encuentros-La Guitarra Flamenca de Gerardo Nunez
well I'm interested into having that as well

John O. -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 6 2011 10:28:26)

Definitely a must have. The version I have has the comments in English, German and French...

thorstennz -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 6 2011 11:06:45)

Are you able to copy them and post here or email possibly?

CarloJuan -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 7 2011 4:43:24)

i have the Encuentro vid and book. But it's kinda pricey. But it's gold anyway so burn money away! [:D][:D]

thorstennz -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 7 2011 7:42:02)

Yes i have the dvd and book already, but i do not have the translation page at the back of the book.

Elie -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 7 2011 7:44:04)

in brief ... and straight to the subject ... gentlemen John O. & CarloJuan are u willing to share the comments at the end of the book with us or not [8D]

henrym3483 -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 7 2011 19:53:36)

thorstennz if you have a copy of the book, post a pic if its an issue with the binding or encuentro, there's a scanned copy of gerardo's book going round the net and i wouldnt like to support piracy

HolyEvil -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 7 2011 20:25:59)

can we just post the translations of the comments but not the tabs itself? is it still piracy? I really want to know what gerardo teaches/commented about flamenco..

Yes. Artists deserve to be paid.

This is why I haven't scanned it in yet. I'd like to see your version of the book too. I paid for mine - more than worth it [:)]

henrym3483 -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 7 2011 23:57:10)

ok this is me being a baaaaad boy [:D]

and well this, this is me being a total a**h***

seriously if you can pay a €100 for a night on the tiles with your mates getting scandalously drunk then you can afford these....plus chicks will digg you even more when you can play "panty-wetting guitar" TM (seriously could'nt resist the jason mcguire pun) [:D][:D][:D]

seriously i think i must have spent at least €1000 on lessons and dvds for flamenco in the last 3 years. but its better imho spending it on something you like and get pleasure from rather than pissing it up against a urinal at pubs or niteclubs and thats pretty much the way for all my other hobbies.

CarloJuan -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 8 2011 4:06:42)

Hello henry do you happen to have a store that sells encuentro books nearby?

Would it be cool for you if you could ship it here and i'll reimburse you (encuentro and shipment) via paypal? Some sites that sell encuentro don't ship here or don't ship internationally anywhere else in asia (oh, why?) and there shipping costs me an arm and a leg. [&:] was wondering if you personally sending it would be any cheaper.

I really have a hard time buying those cause i have to wait for my aunt to go to spain...and then come back again. But now she's already based in australia! [:(]

[8D] i guess your question has been answered...

Ricardo -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 8 2011 14:01:22)

If you can't pay or learn to speak just enough, you are not going to learn. If anyone has a specific question about a certain technque musical section he talks about in the DVD, I don't mind clearifying what he meant. But to say you "have the book" but a page is somehow "missing" is pretty lame.

Ricardo

i like it when he mentions modern players are softies when they need cajon accomp [:D]

Tomrocker -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 8 2011 21:17:11)

I guess i spend more than 2000 Euros on Flamenco lessons Henry for the last year and more PC Hard Disk is full of audio&video materials that i can open my own virtual library! But the thing is '' No matter how much material you get, it is nothing when it comes to what actually you can do with it. Dedicating time to the instrument is no easy and only the lucky ones are able to practice long hours a day and come out with a wonderful acceptable sound. Then, the desire of Having! [image][/image] When you see a specific book and need to get it, then you get it but you never still use it but remain happy cuz you have it anyway! Flamenco is a very long journey like crossing the world on foot! that's why i'm trying to concentrate everyday on a specific work separately (( New piece- Technique development- ear training, music theory)) etc without caring actually how much material i have.

i know the feeling, i havnt touched the pieces section of gerardo's vid just the technique section, tomates vid i dip in and out of and miguels im just getting started on it.
most of the material i spend my time on is from juan serranos books, juan martin and manuel granados.
i have now turned my front room into a practice heaven, sorted it out with solo compas cds and my computer/hd for all the other stuff/private lessons materials

hoping to make a more major leap this year in my playing plus a local dancer is setting up a flamenco group for dance nearby, so im gonna be accompanying either alot of sevillanas and tangos soon

[:-] You have Miguel's book? Tell us how it is once you've gotten around to it...

Ohhh and can you please scan it and upload the book along with a DVD rip? Thanks Henry! [:D][:D]

Ailsa -> RE: Gerardo Nunez dvd with English anyone? (Jan. 9 2011 12:41:36)

All the encuentro books I have include the commentary in several languages so I'm a bit confused why yours doesn't - is it an old edition perhaps?
