I have been away from this forum for awhile and noticed numerous posts on maple flamenco guitars. So I thought I would send in a photo of a wonderful one Jeff built for me in Vancouver back in 2006.
Top Adirondack spruce, back and sides flamed maple.

James

Beautiful guitar.

Do you know where Jeff's shop is located? I'm in Vancouver right now and I would like to visit his shop.

Nice guitar James.

How would you describe the sound compared to a standard cypres/spruce blanca?

I will try and answer both questions with a single post!

Jeff's shop, last time I saw him which was a couple of years ago is actually located in Langley, B.C. Part of what we call greater Vancouver.North of Hwy 1 and east of 200th street. Sorry, I don't have the exact address, but give Jeff a call.

Here the latest information I have info@sigurdsonguitars.com Website:http://www.sigurdsonguitars.com/Office:604-881-0316Location:Langley, B.C.

Hope this helps and let me know if the link and phone number are still valid.

On the sound question: difficult to answer but I will try.

The guitar was put away and has barely been played since it was constructed.
So the sound has not yet opened up to it's full potential I will assume.

It has the sound colour of a good negra, quite bright trebles and full bass, yet slightly muted due to the maple back and sides...does not quite ring out the same...a wonderful sweet sugary tone...
Volume is quite good, although I think it may improve with playing.

Thanks James
