i have to admit, even if i am a bit too old for gaming, i still love it.

what do you play at the moment?

i just started

- Black Ops
- Fallout New Vegas

[:D]

I love Ego Shooters and RPGs [:)]

Elie -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 9 2010 4:24:31)

what about the new Assassin's Creed Brotherhood ? [:D] , it's so promising I guess , I'm willing to start with it
I recently played :
-Darksiders ~ was a bit disappointed with it
-Army of Two ~ hehe I just luv this game coz its crazy
-previous parts of assassin's creed ~ i luv them

at_leo_87 -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 9 2010 6:06:34)

i just got assassin's creed for psp. i haven't really got into it yet.

i'm a big metal gear solid and gran turismo fan.

starcraft is cool too. i have to get the new one.

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 9 2010 8:40:38)

you're never too old Arash!

i'm a big fan of the Football Manager series, the Civilization series and Europa Universalis...i only play open ended games, the rest become boring very early...

I played both on ps1, like 13 years ago or something. I still remember the drivers licenses were just a pain in the butt with GT. Best racing game, you could even learn something about aerodynamics. And in metal gear i always tried to do it the non-violent way, but ended up killing everybody on the map.

The craziest game i know is Postal. I think it is an ironic game about violence?

Arash -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 9 2010 10:29:47)

cool guys

yes, strategy and open world games are cool.
just like RPGs.

but extremely time consuming.

you should also try red dead redemption xirdneH_imiJ [:)]

---

games like Assasins Creed are not my cup of tee.
but i know, most gamers love it.

there are also 2 new RPGs which i am going to play as soon as possible.
Gothic 4 and Two Worlds 2

at_leo_87 -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 9 2010 15:56:27)

the only rpg i got into was final fantasy 8. VERY time consuming!

gran turismo has the best physics, i've seen so far. you definitely learn a lot about driving theory, physics, aerodynamics, etc.

i always "try" to go the non-violent route too. in mgs3, you can sneak up behind them and slice their throats. that was really fun and hard to resist. the problem is, all the soldiers you kill come back to kill as ghosts later in the game.

sean65 -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 9 2010 16:31:57)

I was given a nice new PS3 and a copy of Grand Theft Auto 4 as an early Christmas present.

I feel like I should be too old for games but these are adult entertainment.

I have a short list of games I want to buy,

Red Dead, Black Ops, Metal Gear Solid 4.

We upgraded our TV to a Hi Def model as well and I played a blue ray disc of Casino Royal on the PS3. Quite frankly, I was blown away by the quality difference. Not just the picture but the sound as well. I'm very pleased with it.

No doubt some of you guys suffer the same feelings of guilt when playing games. Like we should really be practicing some scales...lol[:D]

Ron.M -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 9 2010 16:36:03)

The last computer games I played were Space Invaders and Pacman. [:D]

cheers,

Ron

sean, buy AVATAR in bluray. best bluray experience i had
i have ps3 too.

---

Ron, i love pacman.

there are some emulators, like DOS BOX for new PCs which are too new and too fast for old games.
there are huge communities of people who love old games like pacman.[:D]

not really.

playing some of these games is good excersize for hand and fingers. even sometimes harder than playing scales[;)]

I'll give it a go. There are so many films I need to catch up on.

Ron, I've got pacman on the iPhone. It's free and it's a copy of the original with the same annoyingly edgy sounds.

Well, it must have something about it...

My daughter when she was about 7 or so used to really scream in terror if the "ghosties" got her...[:D]

I remember when you could only play Space Invaders in certain modern pubs and had to get in line for an hour or so to get on the machine...

By the time you got on, you and your pals were pretty reasonably pissed, so only lasted a game or two. (no second coins allowed)

High turnover= Good Money, name of the game.

These days I've no time for games, much in the same way as I've no time for TV or Crystal Meth and all that crap. [:D]

That's for the now generation.

cheers,

Ron

jg7238 -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 11 2010 16:34:00)

The "Call of Duty" series is fantastic and the "Brothers in Arms" games are very good too.

Other titles:
Crysis-(on a high-end pc it is a masterpiece from a technology standpoint)
Company of Heroes
Killzone2
Unchartered 2
Wings of Prey

Elie -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 11 2010 20:33:41)

bump [:)]

anybody bought PS4 or Xbox one?
I will wait till next year.
too expensive, too many bugs, and only few games available.

I just played "The last of us" on ps3 (its not that new)
One of the best gaming experiences i had.
Its a ps3 exclusive title though.

There is also a new DLS coming for it soon (Left Behind is the name)

My brother bought GTA5 and played it, but i am too scared to start.
It will eat my complete spare time, maybe later...

tele -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 19 2013 21:31:40)

the new broken sword is pretty good, I also liked the tomb raider. The new batman didn't like so much. GTA 5 I'm waiting for PC

rombsix -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 19 2013 23:25:01)

I used to be the gamer from hell, but I don't even have a TV in Nashville & the last time I seriously played video games was likely 5 years ago or so... Good times though, but I feel video games are a waste of my time now. I either have to read about psychiatry, sleep, or play guitar (or buy groceries, or work, or do laundry, etc.). Video games just do not factor into the equation anymore. I can't fathom how I used to play 11 hours of one-player Street Fighter in the past when I was a teenager. If I play anything like that now, I imagine I can't last more than 30 minutes...

Cheers!

My brother's favourite is starcraft, but i have no clue about that game.

One game i am waiting for is Witcher III. Its going to be Open World (like Skyrim) and even bigger.

keith -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 20 2013 15:01:56)

not into video games but have been involved in game theory for years--not sure that really counts as no joy sticks and such are used.

it counts. game theory is even used in video games ;-)
do you have a solution for this?

keith -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 20 2013 16:37:27)

arash--true, game theory operates all the time.

to put a game into action lets say mariano and faustino conde are apprehended by interpol. they are taken to the station, charged with selling chinese made guitars with a conde sticker. interpol decides the brothers together might form a common defense so they put mariano in one room (sabicas playing a ramirez piped in) and faustino in another room (paco pena playing a gerundino piped in)--sort of a manuel noriega thing going on to loosen their tongues. interpol has little on these guys so they figure they will get one to rat on the other. if mariano and faustino fink on each other each will serve a year in a chinese prison painting the prison a bright orange. if mariano finks on faustino mariano goes free and can return to madrid and faustino goes to prison for a year in china then a year in north korea (spray painting dennis rodman's best buddy's home a nice bright orange). if mariano and faustino say nothing and tell interpol paco playing a conde and he would never play a chinese guitar they get 6 months planting cypress trees at the alhambra.

What will each do?

Arash -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 20 2013 18:59:54)

Well, you would think both will go to prison for 1 year, don't you? :D

But since we know that they are smart and make the best guitars, both will magically connect in a superposed, entangled and superpositioned
quantum world and chose the option to keep quite and in addition offer the interpol officer some free blancas and negras, convincing him to
not only let them both free , but even cooperate with them and make some extra cash ;-)

Images are resized automatically to a maximum width of 800px

keith -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 20 2013 19:38:29)

arash--nice! now we have the interpol agent up on charges of accepting a bribe and the conde boys are brought in since the information gathered is tainted because of the bribe and the game now expands to three.

El Burro Flamencuro -> RE: Any GAMERS around? (Dec. 21 2013 1:47:11)

I've been an Off/on Pc game addict for the last 3-6 years. I'm trying to have a real life now hahah and music is my medicine of choice. Both avenues have for the most part made me a hermit....either playing video games for hours in my room, or practicing guitar for hours in my room. Once the money coffers dry up...i'll have to open the door, walk outside and try to make some money. I've lived like this for so long, I've become accustomed to it and maybe even prefer it over the norm...it's gonna be hard to transition into the real world.
recently i've been playing:
Counter-strike Go, Dota 2, Payday 2 the Heist, warframe and others.
I play on Steam and with steam's new market system...i've been funding my video game addiction by selling in-game items....i've made probably $70-80 this way. Also i only buy games when there is a sale on steam...which is very frequent. Some games will go down to 2-7 dollars....and not just crap ones either.
