kozz -> Hello again! (Nov. 28 2010 9:45:47)

It's been an while I posted something.

Last monday I was taken into hospital to have a surgery on my lower back issues.
Since it all has taken to long in The Netherlands to have a surgery my nerves were too much damaged I also abtained a dropfeet (partially disfuntioning of the feet).

The operation went succesfull and on thursday I was fired from the hospital.
The normal hernia pains are completly gone now, so I am able to walk again, which is a real pleasure.
The dropfeet hasn't completely cured, and probably can take up to 1.5 years untill it can obtain its full functionallity (but thats not for sure). But it isn't such a problem since I am able to walk and I am not a runner.

The wound is 7" big because they were not able to use the new operational techniques due to 2 herniated discs.

Positve site of all is that probably within two monts I can pick up the guitar again and slowly start all over again.
The next 2 months I am not allowed to do anything, apart from sitting, lying down and walking...which is hard at first because I would like to do a lot of things which I haven't done for quite some time now.

But when I am fully recoverd, the first thing will be a big holiday with my girlfriend, who's my nurse now, and have a nice holiday in south of spain and gain some flamenco vibes again.

Probably I will not be able to play as much as I would like to, but I just have to accept that, and perhaps thats not even a bad thing, since there will be less presure to obtain results.

As part of all what happened the last months I decided to have cancelled my order for the Francisco Navarro Reyes model with pegs and I am gonnna sell my HSL F03. (If anyone is interested in the HSL, just drop me an email)
I decided that one guitar will be enough for the time being and I have my FN Concert model updated with some beautifull fustero tuners with black rollers (Fustero 202/A black rollers).

The time I have left over now I am not gonna play so much again I will spent on photography (thanks but no thanks Simon [;)]) and to Computer Art.
I already have a few assignements for some Cover Art, and small video, and since my girlfriend has now a nice assignment for some interior design projects I can help her out creating 3d art. The last is not as normal as I thought in the world of architecture and design, so I hope I can do a lot of assignments in this field.
Learning some new packages like the new AutoCAD, Maya, Zbrush and the whole bunge to have some tools availble to obtain something.

Hope everybody is doin well here!
And spent the andrenaline in playing is what I would say [:D], I like show offs in playing instead of typing.

cheers
koz

A 7" wound - well that's something to boast about!

Seriously, glad you are going to be back on the Foro more - I've really missed your humour!!

Wish you all the best for a speedy recovery.

Welcome back Kozz, we have two things in common now, only I got a smaller incision for the one disc. You can blame computers and guitars for the poor posture.

Sorry about the photography thing. I am moving to medium format film and scanning with my old Bronica that is on its way back from Spain as we speak, so you better keep up. My wife is busy with Corel Painter and PhotoShop on her Mac and starting to produce some interesting images.

For me, music and imagery are closely related. They come from a similar creative motivation and can emote the same feelings.

It took at least 5 years for me to get my toes back, I have got used to the numbness down both legs but I could never have got used to that relentless, disabling pain.

p.s. you can stay at my house near Granada for free if you want it. 20 mins drive into the city, 30 mins to the beach or stay in the lovely valley. Just drop me a note.

Hey Kozz,

Health is wealth man.

Take it easy, and before you know it, you'll be enjoying life to the full.

Sounds like you've got the same over subscribed medical situation in Holland as we have here in the UK.

Doitsujin -> RE: Hello again! (Nov. 28 2010 12:41:01)

Sorry for the OT but the title of this thread reminds me so hard on "Hello again" of Howard Carpendale. I love it! [:)]

LOL, I am probably the last male on earth not wearing a tatoo, so now I can show off also. Although it still looks like a monster, it will become a great body-attachement [;)]
About the humor we have to see, I am off morphine and diazepam now, it might be a little less [:D]

LOL,
computers and guitars are not made for humans.

The photography thing helped me a lot in seeing this from a different perspective, its good for the creativity....but one thing's for sure, I am not gonna keep up with you...photography and film is a complete different area, and I don't have the patience to wait for movie editting [;)]
I am very curious to what your wife is doin! I remember Corel from the old days on the Amiga500, after that never looked back into it.

I do totally agree with that music and imagary are very close related, it all is supposed the express ones personal feeling.

Damn Simon, I didn't know it you 5 years to get your toes back....I thought it was immediately cured.
What was the reason? Also waited to long with surgery?

Wow, thats really awesome gesture Simon, very much appreciated and I'll certainly drop you a mail about it!!!

Thanks gbv!
I should have known that when I first started out with 3ds max for fun when I still was a chemical analyst, but maybe its not to late. :)
It still amazes me, I thought that brance was leading in technology....just another lesson; never assume, always ask.

You're completely right Sean.
Finally I went to the hospital in Belgium and 50% of the people were Dutch :)
Luckily my ensurance company has close contacts with hospitals in Belgium, so the whole thing was coverd.

The pain was cured but the nerve damage took a long time to even partially repair.

Really good to see you back[:)]

All the best in your recovery Kozz. Sounds like you have suffered enough, now it is time to get some gravy out of life. Take it easy and you got a good girl to help support you by the sounds of things.

welcome back kozz!

im glad things worked out well!

about the nerves, they do come back. they're slow as hell, (1mm a month or something like that) but they do come back.

good thing you got the 27 inch mac. now you wont have to strain back to learn in to look at the details. [:D]

if you need to zoom in, it's command key then scroll with the mouse. just dont zoom in too much or your head will explode. [:D]

Thanks Anthony!
One day I hope they do come back, but I so sooo happy just being able to walk and sit again in a normal way. I've got to have some "electro shock therapy" on the nerve everyday now. It'll not solve the issue, but keeps the muscles trained. So once the nerve thinks its time to join in, the rest will do also.

Yesterday I picked up the guitar since a very long time...hahaha...I laughed out loud because everything went wrong. Its time to become a lady again and file my nails.

The iMac is a beast, I am lovin it. For a few days I thought the screen was to big....but you get used to it pretty quick.
For PS and 3d application I have to get an another mouse and a wacom tablet....but must admit I am hooked on the mac designs, so it must fit [:D].
Last weekend I got a mail from ZEEP architects and they want to have a logo, mouth to mouth advertising is doin its work already in a good way, and I haven't got a website yet for myselves.

cheers amigo

It's funny how many of my hobbies you have done! I love photoshop and have a copy(and legal license) of Lightwave3d. Computer art, computer music, and flamenco are so much fun. I wonder though how much fun they are to do for a living. I used to have a huge passion to fly, now that I do it, it has become more of a job than something awesome. I find myself longing to do hobbies that other people do for their jobs while people spend all their money to do my type of work for a hobby.[:)]

LOL, I know exactly what you Gummy.
A long time ago I quit my job at Philips R&D to go fulltime into dancemusic. All of a sudden it wasn;t that fun anymore and you had to produce tracks, you remember we talked about ableton etc. They had to met certain standards etc and the fun part of experimenting was gone.
After I decided to stop with that again,it was fun making music again.
The brain is a funny thing [;)]

Are you a pilot from profession? Souds awesome to me.

Gummy -> RE: Hello again! (Nov. 30 2010 14:14:17)

Yeah, I fly helicopters for the local hospitals normally. I also fly search and rescue helicopters for the military several days a month. I also have flown business type jets. Sometimes I look out the window at the trees/ocean, kids waving below and realize how cool it is to be there but it really does become a job. I think flying is awesome but I recommend doing it on the side only and preserving the pure joy it can be without all the crap associated for trying to make a living at it.
