I walked into a music shop in town yesterday to discover (with horror!) that the Brits overcharge like crazy for simple guitar strings lol! how much were they? sometimes you have to shop around a bit, some places are more expensive than others. also, most music shops are selling loads of electric and steel string acoustic strings, so these are probably cheaper, but not many nylon strings, which are more expensive. if you can find a shop that caters more for classical music the nylon strings might be cheaper. but i always buy mail order in the UK to get strings cheaper 16 pounds at the shop! [:'(] lol... even online, though, I couldn't find them any cheaper than 10 pounds, whereas on Amazon in the States and other US-based strings sites, they're around 8 dollars, so literally half price. I'd imagine for some strings (like the composites) you might, if you're ordering in bulk, be better off buying from the States and paying for the shipping. Maybe!
