Is really a technical monster.

This bule is from his new cd "cuerdas del alma".

Thanks for sharing mezzo!

Im like your two posts.

Palmas has an unusual sound. Kind of wet and sloppy sounding[:D]

Either that or someone has some chubby hands.[8D]

mezzo -> RE: JM Canizares bulerias (Nov. 22 2010 8:20:03)

No please don't remove them. Sorry.i just meant it seemed weird that youd made two posts with exactly the same text..seemed to lack the human touch if you know what I mean. Thought maybe your acc had been hacked. Thanks for the vids

C#.

Except F, Bb, and G all other keys have been already recorded, mostly por bulerias. Only for D i dont know a bulerias but could name Tomatitos Tangos and Chicuelos Liviana.

mezzo -> RE: JM Canizares bulerias (Nov. 22 2010 12:51:28)

Thanks Deniz [:)]

Well if KMMI77 is right, the G is done now (?)

Hmmm, i noticed that when you ask for something concrete, "los ke saben" pretend not to hear the question [:@]

I'm glad you're not one of them.

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: JM Canizares bulerias (Nov. 22 2010 12:55:19)

Amir John Haddad has one in D (i think) so we're pretty much covered :)

I watched it. It is so lala. Not really rocking ideas IMO.

In response to this thread I purchased the "Cuerdas Del Alma" cd from Amazon. Having listened to about 2/3 of it, I don't care for it much. I suffered through the opening Rumba which sounded more like light jazz only to encounter more mundane music throughout the rest of it. The 2nd song, which is the Bulerías in this video, is ok but nothing to write home about. I REALLY like his "Noches De Imán Y Luna" cd and was excited to hear about a new release. I have much less enthusiasm now.
Anybody have any other opinions of it?

Dave A.

aloysius -> RE: JM Canizares bulerias (Nov. 23 2010 2:47:26)

I've been listening his new album for the last couple of days - it's a mixed bag, a couple of commercial numbers (the rumba and the vals, he does some cool soloing though), a ballada (a reworked number for the "noches" album), a guajira. The Buleria, Solea por Buleria, Alegria and Tangos are all pretty kick-ass imo.

By far the best track is the last one, a libre "fantasia" with an amazing tremolo section.

The album's certainly growing on me. It has all of cañizares' trademark wierdness (outside notes etc) but much more toned down than in "noches" (he goes easy on the quarter tone bends this time, too). There's no cante whatsoever though - not even a coro.

Would recommend if you liked "noches" or just want to hear some great ideas - modern, but it's a very different modern to the laid back groovyness of some of the current andalucian guitarists like Diego or Dani. Will keep me going until my copy of "orate" arrives.
