Neotriz -> I get a nasty buzz coming out from the bridge (Nov. 18 2010 22:03:12)

If i play the open high E and b strings, I get a really nasty buzz coming out from the bridge

not sure if it's coming out from the fretboard though

Everywhere else is fine; no buzz when the strings are pushed down

Any ideas?

Well, first off stop smokin under the bridge.

All sounds on our instrument come from some kind of vibration. So- theres some kind of movement going on near, at, or on the bridge. Make sure your strings are tied to it firmly, and that the ends beyond the knot arent touching anything.

A more involved task: on a string by string basis, loosen a string enough to get slack to the point of being able to lift it off of the bridge. Place a tiny square of paper between the string and the bridge. Re-tighten and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then you know theres a problem where that particular string touches the bridge. It could be the string, which means change it. It could be the bridge, which means lightly sand it smooth. (I HIGHLY recommend having a repair person do that)
