Andy Culpepper -> Great live sound on a budget (Nov. 8 2010 22:20:07)

I am by no means a techie kind of guy but I have stumbled upon a great setup for doing small - medium size gigs with plenty of volume, no feedback issues, for under $500. Thought others might be interested...

Mic: Shure SM57 (duh)

Preamp (important for volume level and tone in noisy restaurants etc.): ART Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp
http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/ART-Tube-MP-Studio-Mic-Preamp?sku=180581

Amp: Crate CA30DG Taos Acoustic Amp

And the guitar of course:

This is all very Flamenco guitar friendly stuff and allows me to get a great natural guitar sound with ultimate control over tone and volume. Obviously not for the larger venues but we usually have some kind of PA system for those.

Thanks Andy - I've been hearing good things about the Crate amps. I think I'll go demo some next week.
