Well, I could post a fantasia of mine. But I would not call it a Minera, although I use the language of flamenco it is not. It is a personal toque. I have already leaned what happens when I try to write something and call it flamenco. I get scolded. I actually wrote a Taranta when I was just beginning to learn Flamenco about 4 years ago. I was so happy with it, I thought it sounded great and because Taranta is a free form, I though ok that means I can have fun with it. So I traveled to Spain in 06 and played it for Manolo (I do have video of that but on tape) and he spent the next 30 mins of that lesson using me as an example to the whole medio class of how not compose in flamenco. It was one of the best lessons in my life and has profoundly affected me to this day to be careful when writing. In addition, when translating Manolo's book his section on composition has taught me to examine why it is I wish to compose, what is my motivation (know thy self)? Personally, for me I do not feel I have the capacity to compose yet – fantasias yes, true flamenco no. Which is why I gave Minera examples of people better than I (of which there are MANY!). I will try and post my fantasia soon (sometime next week). Regards.
