odinz -> Fransisco Navarro flamenco-2 student review (Sep. 14 2010 22:21:48)

A while ago I asked for help to choose a guitar and then I said i would write a review of it.

So today i was interupted from my wonderful flamenco dreams by the doorbell, and there stood a man with a DHL uniform wanting my signature and i was given the guitar.

The guitar specs of the website are:

Price: 1000$

Solid spruce top
Solid spanish cypress back and sides
Cocobolo bridge & Fretboard
Bone nutt & saddle
650mm
Scale
Ebony Pegs.

When i opened the case that the guitar was shipped in, the first thing i noticed was a really strong smell, it was really good so i sat there smelling it for quite a while..

I started playing it a bit, and it was kind of scary, because i have never played a guitar that was quite so responsive(i have been playing classical guitars for quite some time) The action felt perfect, and the sound was punchy, but also sweet.
The guitar was also loud, i wonder what kind of lacquer it uses, because the guitar sounds really open.

I really enjoy the sound of the guitar[:)]

The neck was comfortable to play as well, it just felt natural to me right away, so that was lucky considering i have never tried a Navarro before!

I guess I am not very detailed but i am impressed, and for the price especially.
It outclasses the guitars i do have by miles, one of them is almost the same price, and sounds better than some more expensive guitars i have tried[:)]

So for any student that has a budget around 1000$ i would recommend the Navarro, now i will try to get some pictures up and go spend some time with my new partner[8D]

odinz -> RE: Fransisco Navarro flamenco-2 student review (Sep. 19 2010 12:04:06)

Thanks! i actually like pegs more than machines, but my teacher in school(classical guitarist) hadnt tuned pegs before and he was scared when he pulled the peg out a bit and the string pulled it around and way out of tune "Ooops!" [:D]

I like it though, because it locks the strings, and ive only tuned it 2 times even with pretty new strings[:)]
