ok, i'll keep this short.

DO NOT get this amp.
it is not suitable for flamenco or for use with a mic. it's not that loud with a mic. i had to use a preamp. and once i did that, there was all sorts of humming and feedback, even though this amp has feedback detection.

i think it has great potential for a steel string with a 1/4 plug. but it just doesn't work for flamenco.

im going to try the roland ac-60 and acoustic ag60 next.

Most of the equipment Behringer makes is entry-level, budget priced garbage.

Oh no...

OK the Roland AC60 has great sound quality. The only objection I have for that one is that the bass end can sound slightly synthetic sometimes.
But it's a very compact, very light and high quality amp.

yeah, i took a risk with the behringer. this is what i get for being cheap...

i remember the guitar center i went to had the roland ac60. i'll try it out today. i'm definitely going to be getting something by the end of the day.

What is your budget? A friend of mine uses a AER Compact 60 and that really sounds amazing. (but the price also 889 euro's)
It really does justice to your guitar.

i have the roland. its for sure better than the beringer.
maybe not as good as the AER.
AER had a slightly warmer and a litte more natual sound, when i compared them in the music shop before buying, but the price difference which was double so high as roland, wasn't worth it for me.
roland has the best price/performance ratio.

but if you sold all your stuff and you are rich now, go for AER [:D]

the roland also has feedback detection, but that often doesn't help.
you will always have feedback problems, depending on mic, enviroment, etc.
feedback will always be after you!

Et Leo,

If it is possible for you. Check out the shertler unico amp if it's within your budget. I get better results with it than i did with the AER. Cost is about $1500aus.

thanks for the help, guys! it seems the roland ac-60 is really popular.

i have one question though. what do you guys use to mic the guitar? it seems like no matter what, the output of a dynamic mic is just not loud enough.

I have a beringer PA built in amp/mixer 800w. The effects are great and coupled with an EV speaker, it is crystal clear and silent when not playing. The cleanest sound I have ever got and I have used this thing for like 4 years I think. It was half price of the 800w Mackie we used to use that was heavy, very loud, but lot of hiss and the effects sucked.

Any microphone sounds fine with it. The loudest I think you can get is using a sure Beta 87a (condenser but it LOOKS like a dynamic mic [;)]), and put it right up to the sound hole. It needs a lot of gain but after you eq out some bass the guitar is right there. If you move back it gets quiet real quick so you have to be careful with your position.

i will check out that option as well. but it looks like i'll be shelling out around 1000 at the least for that setup, something to work towards. but the idea of a mixer with multiple inputs sounds very appealing.

are condensors recommended for live situations?

Hey man...long time no talk! No those are three black holes that have such a strong gravitational pull, no sound is ever heard. The ultimate "silent guitar".

It sounds good, but is lacking power/volume considering it's specs, size, and weight-it weighs a ton. But I traded in a beat to crap amp that I paid about 400. for and walked out the door with the above for 200. I've been doing gigs with it for maybe three-four years and it works.
When I need more/cleaner sound, I bring a pa- a crown power amp, a mackie 1202 or 1604 and a reverb unit. Way more power and clean. But not needed for small gigs.

a few folks here have the sound ports. grisha, jason, deniz, anders, florian, msa, kozz. i know im missing some folks.

some folks have double soundports.

mine was not a result of a collapsed star, though that would be a cooler story. i had a repair man drill them in.

mark, i was considering just getting the next behringer up. but i was afraid it was going to be the same thing but louder and heavier.

UPDATE: the store didn't have the roland ac60. but they had the acoustic ag60. which, according to some online reviews, is comparable and maybe even better.

i'll make a separate review....
