Very famous building in Bath, there Escribano.

I've always wondered if it is still used as domestic housing or been bought over for offices etc?

I do know that a lot of beautiful (and large) houses in Glasgow were transformed into office lets in the 60's 70's.

Same in Aberdeen, but later on, after the impact of the Oil industry.

I've always loved the "Arco de Cuchilleros" in Madrid and the buildings around Plaza Mayor and around Sol.

Maybe Jim Opfer (the architect) might like to add something, with his expert view on this subject?

cheers,

Ron

It's always been residential and costs millions just for an apartment. Residents have included Gainsborough, Clive of India and Nicolas Cage [;)] John Cleese has recently moved in.

You can see glancing shrapnel marks in the foreground from WWII. Quite a lot in that part of town.

Thank you, very kind. I use a Canon 550D (Rebel T2i in the US), which I bought for video but then got back into stills, and in these shots a Sigma 10-20mm EX lens. I toured the city today with a professional colleague who showed me what my camera could do (lots of buttons and menus). Here's another one I really like:

Oh God!....Lord Macauley's classic book, "Clive of India" was our English reader for two years at school! [&:]

Absolutely unforgettable....(for those 14 year olds who could remain awake)..[:D]

cheers,

Ron

PS: Lord Chesterfield's "Letters to his Son", is another rip-roaring book for those who have completed "Clive of India" and require further cerebral stimulation.... [:-]

I get all my information on that era from the Flashman books. Far more entertaining, and just as reliable. [;)]

Nice shots, Simon. Any more?

Yep, it's quite a lot of work to get it in one shot. Just a bit of Photoshop for colour and contrast though [8|]

Them’s real purty pictures. I thought you feller’s might like to see the new high rise condo we and the misses just moved into. We hit the jackpot and got the one with the view on the top. On a clear day you can see the sanitation plant in Buford Springs.
