Hello,

I'm going to be in Sevilla in a few weeks and I will certainly be going to a few flamenco shows. I don't want to fall in tourists traps like I did in Madrid a few years ago [:D].

Anyone has inputs on where to go to catch the real flamenco atmosphere?

Regards

I was there a couple years ago and two places I enjoyed were La Carboneria and El Tamboril (Not sure if I'm spelling either of those correctly). They're worth checking out.

Thank you :)

Which one did you feel was more "authentic"?

Neither are really showy. El Tamboril is off a very neat little square and it's kind of hidden. It's a small place and the shows are very intimate. You all sit around in kind of a U shape little room with the players at one end. It's neat. I think music starts at 9 or 10.

La Carboneria is bigger and has kind of cafeteria style tables. They also have a smaller room off the main room for late night performances.

El Sol Café Cantante has some nice shows. I went there quite a bit while living in Sevilla.

Alright, thanks to both of you, it's appreciated. I'll make sure to check those places out.
