Hello,

I've been trying to purchase train tickets directly from RENFE's website without any success for weeks. I'd like to get their Web or Estrella discounted prices but all I get after entering my Verified By Visa password is a G001 Error message.

Has anyone dealt with this issue in the past and managed to buy tickets? I searched the net and it seems to be an issue for a lot of travellers for years...

Regards

Its not just overseas residents that have trouble buying Bus and train tickets over the internet in Spain. Its one of the more annoying aspects of life here. Basically the web sites don't work properly and there is no capital punishment in Spain which means that we cant execute the mindless morons in charge of the electronic ticket sales. To add insult to injury they have job protection here so that they cant be fired either and continue to receive a salary and social security for providing third rate web services.

Ok...rant over....[:D][:D]

Grrrr...

I'd like to buy them online because of promotions. For example, an AVE train from Barcelona to Madrid costs 46 euros using th web discounted price instead of 116...

It recalls me the year I passed in Italy and all their damned useless websites....

Yeah....if you want things to work smoothly and be on time then visit Norway. If you want good weather, gypsy music, late nights and fun then visit a Mediterranean country. I don't think its culturally possible to have both at the same time. It might be worth considering forming an independent state in the south of France...
