Have any members here seen or tried this ported bridge idea before (see link)? Seems interesting. Just wondering if having the air pressure inside the body release at the bridge reduces the amount of air being pushed by the soundboard versus a sound port on the upper bout.

I remember examining a Hopf guitar that had a ported bridge (much more elegant with complex carving to cover the holes in the limbs of the bridge). It also had a tail piece over the end block of the guitar so the strings were not attached to the bridge. It was probably the loudest guitar I've ever played but it had little else but volume. The voice was very austere and sterile.
