elron -> classical guitar identification (Jun. 26 2010 22:49:20)

Hello everyone,
I recently bought an old classical guitar and it sounds great but I have no idea who made it or even roughly what era it is from (there is no label in the guitar). You can see pictures of the guitar here:

http://nikmonnin.blogspot.com/2010/06/classical-guitar.html

If you click the image two times you can see it close up. I know that the top is spruce and the back and sides are rosewood, but I am not sure if the back is Brazilian or east Indian rosewood. Perhaps you can tell? Also, are there any clues that you can see that would point to a certain age (approximately) this guitar is, or perhaps where it was made? I know that these questions are might be hard to answer based on these pictures. I just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts about it. The guy I bought it from thought it could be from the 30's or 40's but he couldn't be sure. I think I found a gem, I love the way it sounds!
thanks for your help,

Nik

Maybe it was a luthier but not a full time luthier, i dont know.

Can you tell what the material on the tuner knobs are?

It looks pretty good, as for age, I would think it belongs in the pre world war 2 era or something, since my friend also has an old guitar, and they look simmilar in aging signs.

The marks by the frets looks interesting, maybe a refretting efford?

I am no luthier but i think this guitar looks pretty good, but it doesnt seem all geometric maybe a hobby luthier? maybe just the picture angle though.

Anyway in my opinion you should visit a luthier or guitar shop or anywhere, maybe a museum to have them check on your newly found pearl.

Btw you should upload some audio, it would be interesting and maybe help someone identify it[:D]
