Pretty unfortunate choice of name for a tin pot hosting service. How long has the Foro been with them? Three or four months or so!

Hope you get things sorted Simon and that it's not too much of a headache for you.

I'm always wary of anything with a number in it, like "1" (one) "2" (to) or "4" (for) or "L8" (late).
To my old-fashioned brain it always sounds like an East-End shady secondhand car outfit. [:D]

cheers,

Ron

LOL. I know what you mean. Like some 'Apprentice' watching kid with a GCSE in 'Texting' and with entrepreneurial fantasies. [:D]

I love this reviewers comments...

"NEVER EVER EVER WOULD I DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

I WISH THERE WAS A '0' IN THE RATING SYSTEM OR EVEN BETTER A -5

WORST SERVICE EVER
WORST PRODUCT EVER

THEY HAVE FRIED MY BRAIN"

(You can almost TOUCH the rage.... [:D])

I feel sorry for Simon and the amount of work and hassle in migrating the whole site to a new Hoster. Then the inevitable de-bugging and tuning, all done in evenings and weekends.

Can everyone see now why the man sometimes gets pissed off with spammers and trolls.. and when we get trivial complaints or flame wars with each side "Reporting Abuse" and the inevitable legal threats? [:D]

cheers,

Ron

Yeah, about that and they go and get taken over, move eveything and it all goes to ****, typical. They had a great rep for many years. [:(]

I am looking at hosting it on our very own Virtual Private Server for the same amount of money - unlimited domains, much more disk and database space and hopefully, no crazies interferring because we get all the control. Though it is going to be more work to set it all up. I may be looking for a US technical volunteer to help me manage the service across timezones.

My first choice too[8|]...then Jacinto

The web host 4 life name reminds me of a joke where a man comes home from the doctors and says to his wife "I have been told I have to take a tablet every day for the rest of my life"
His wife says "why are you so worried about that"
The man says " He only gave me 10 tablets"

Actually, your joke made me think of the late Clement Freud who always did that deadpan stuff...

(If I can remember this one correctly..)

An aged man stumbles slightly going into a Hotel elevator and accidentally bumps into an aged lady, striking her bosom with his elbow....and says...

"I'm most terribly sorry Madam,...but can I say.. I'm sure if your heart is as soft as your breast, then you will forgive me".

To which she replies...

"And can I say.. if your penis is as hard as your elbow... then I'm in room 211..."

[:D][:D]

cheers,

Ron
