Hola Fellow Flamencos, I thought it was time to post a recent vid of a performance our group did last month for a charity event. This was our first really "big" show and there were over 300 people in attendance that evening. All quite exciting but unfortunately things were a bit rushed and we didn't have anytime to warm up so I felt its a little rough. We found out that we had to cut the Bulerias number short so we pretty much just played straightforward compas. Overall the crowd enjoyed the performance and we got many nice compliments. (btw, i'm on the left...)

Pretty good, but I'd like to have heard a lot more rasqueos.

Also- as far as image, your posture is very non-flamenco.

Anyway- great first-big-show!

Sig,

My personal opinion is that it is not a good idea to have 2 dancers performing at the same time otherwise it looks very choreographed and stiff.

The audience tend to check if both are in sync rather than looking at the dance.

You can see that at the end when each girl does her own stuff and it looks improvised and like the dancer is expressing her own feelings.

Much better IMO.

I would have only one dancing at a time, with the other on palmas/jaleo, myself and stop working out "routines".

I am always happy and honored to see Flamencos beeing succesfull (Gigs/Performances, etc.), no matter which level and no matter if everything was "perfect" or not.

nice work! 300 people is a lot. were you nervous at all? you look very relaxed and confident. what amp did you play through?

Thanks to all who replied. We have only been performing together for about 6 months so there's lots of work that still needs to be done.
Ron, good ideas, i'll have to discuss with the dancers;
Chiste: I know what you mean about my posture. Part of the problem was the chair, I couldn't find one that worked for me. It was very short and i'm over 6' tall with long legs so I was having trouble getting the guitar in proper position.
Graham_B: I'm glad you liked my skirt! :)
at_leo: Honestly I wasn't too nervous, I think I get more nervous when its a smaller crowd. We use an Ibanez Troubadour and it seems to have enough power for most small gigs. Since this was such a large venue we ran our instruments through the house PA and used our amp as a monitor.
