the other guitarist will play the other (solea por bulerias) while i play cajon. then if time permits, i can play my solo piece.

Can you still play your guitar right after playing cajon? I can't unless I wait a few hours. . .

we arranged it so the pieces where i played guitar would come first and cajon would be last. i know exactly what you mean. it's horrible for the hands and i lose all fine control.

Great pics,

now just concentrate on the artistic side of the performance and you will do well, it's what you want to express that matters, and keeping it all in sync with the other performers, worry is another world away.....so keep an open diologue with all of them.

Have fun with it all, and try to drink after the performance!

Really great to see this happening.
Wonderful news!
Gary

Looking good and relating to your other thread, also looking professional.

I believe if one does the job of a professional one should charge.
I often have to do so, sometimes I feel reluctant but when I work professionally that's a simple truth. It's just a fact not a reflection of how good or bad I judge myself to be.
If people value what I do and want to employ me then I respect that.

at_leo_87 -> RE: i'm going to be on tv! (May 15 2010 8:15:24)

thanks guys!

gary, it was recorded at 10 in the morning, so all i had to drink was orange juice and water. lol.

orsonw, at first i was reluctant to receive ANY money at all for playing guitar. for some, reason it felt uncomfortable and new. i guess i couldn't associate making money with something that did not make me want to kill myself but was actually fun. lol. but i think im used to it now and i guess i wouldn't mind getting paid like a professional. [:D]

michel -> RE: i'm going to be on tv! (May 15 2010 10:29:36)

congratulations anthony great pics!
the outfit fits very well, kind of pulp fiction style. makes you look like the boss of a ganster clan, so perfect for flamenco [:D] (j/k)
next sunday i'll do my first performance (mainly friends) after 7 years so i'm nervous, but a TV-team would make me even more nervous. good job man!

RTC -> RE: i'm going to be on tv! (May 15 2010 10:38:59)

Is the video available, would love to see your performance.

playing flamenco is just my front. i'm actually the boss of the yakuza. [:-]
good luck with your first performance! there's absolutely no need to worry. you will do great if you just relax and enjoy! easier said than done, i know. but you'll see what i mean. [;)] let us know how it goes! what kind of gig is it?

The TV-people cut it? Than it will be sliced into million pieces... every half second another angle. And usually when people edit who have no idea about flamenco, they show a closeup of the feet when the dancer does only upper body and the guitar is playing a falseta. When the dancer does some tricky feet works, they will probably show a closeup of the guitarists face or even a close up of the taping foot of the guitarist. And if there is a singer singing the entrada, they swing the camera to the decoration of the studio. So,... whatever you get, expect the worst. ;.))

i've already seen it and that's exactly what happened. lol. only not as bad as you described it. they did a pretty good job, i think. but my memory is bad, we'll have to wait and find out.
