....in a dream!![:D][:D]

Ive had this before and wonder if its natural or weather i got some issues???[:D]

Its been raining heavily all weekend in england and Ive been playing ALOT!

in the dream, Id left my guitar outside in the rain for for days in a soft case....and when i brought it in, I opened the case and the strings were gone and the guitar was madde of paper whcih was soaking wet...i tried to pick it up and it turned to mush in my hands!!!!.....and that was it...apart from the dreadful tearful feeling it left behind!!!!!![:o][:o][:o]

i was happy to wake up and find it was a dream

anyone else get this????and what does it mean?

I've never had a dream about my guitar being destroyed. I always find it amazing that you can wake up from a dream feeling such strong emotions. When they are bad it's always good to wake up.[:D]

well this is good. be happy.
i guess this means everything is in order.

i had it the other way around which gave me food for thought.

about 2 years ago, i destroyed my yamaha (not in a dream, but in real, not a joke). i had a really really bad day because something happened i don't wanne talk about and when i received that message, i had the yamaha in my hand and went totally nuts (gladly it was "only" a yamaha). all left was the machine head.

anyway, recently i had a dream where i was the owner of about 15 or so top best guitars (Conde, Reyes, etc.). and i played each of them for few seconds, and i sounded exactly like those pros. who play those guitars (i.e. Conde-Paco , Reyes-Vicente, etc.). and not only that, but the sound was like from their CDs (perfect clean sound with top EQ, reverb etc.lol)

then i woke up and it was all over.

and there is more to come:

sometimes i have daydreams where i hear some flamenco music and imagine that its me who is playing what i hear lol

[:D]

i have those crazy dreams also, i actually went camping once with a maton guitar (pretty decent guitar), and

it was dark , i thought ok ill put the tent here, left guitar outside the tent.

then in the morning it was thundering down, guitar was really soaked, and realized the land where i put the tent up was on someones property , did they give me a big stare!!.

ran out of there with my wet guitar, i cant play so well, but im decent at destroying guitars!.[&:]

It's your subconscious saying that you're spending too much time in rainy old uk, and need to spend more time in andalucia ?

What guitar are you playing (except your love for Condes [:D])?

Ron.M -> RE: my guitar has been destroyed!!! (May 3 2010 8:35:37)

I had a terrible dream once that I'd ordered a Blanca guitar from a music shop (not that I would) and was required to put down a £300 deposit first.

When the guitar came in, the store phoned me and I went in.

They gave me the outstanding invoice to pay at the desk while the guy went upstairs to get it.
I wrote out a cheque for the remaining £400, handed it to the cashier and waited for the guy to come back.

He eventually came down with the case and a set of strings saying that these guitars always come unstrung, but I could string it up and try it out in a little testing booth if I wanted to.

So I went in, opened the case and got the guitar out.

It looked OK at first, but then I noticed that it looked like there was some black material or something covering the back of the soundhole. [:-]

I then noticed that the top was loose and sort of fitted like a lid!

When I lifted it up I could see that there was a loudspeaker fitted at the back of the soundhole with wires leading from it to a crappy little amplifier on a printed circuit board with a 9 volt battery attached...both just loose and rattling around.

I called the salesguy over and told him this was certainly not acceptable and no good to me whatsoever.

He said not to worry about the top being loose as "the strings would hold it on!". [:D]

I started getting really mad and pointed out the stupid speaker and amp and he said that particular maker ALWAYS used that in his designs to give "more body to the middle register."

I tried to hand the guitar back, shaking my head and saying no way did I want this rubbish and wanted my money back.

He came back with the invoice and a catalogue and smarmily pointed out that the guitar I had was the one I had ordered in the catalogue.

When I said there was no reference to any speakers or "middle reinforcement" or anything in the description, he just laughed and sayed that EVERYBODY knew that this maker built his guitars that way and I should perhaps have done more homework and that, sorry, but there would be no refund, since the guitar was specially ordered for me and not a stock item and that I'd probably get used to it after a while and stood there with a smarmy, self-righteous smile.

I was just about to throttle him when I woke up in a sweat with my heart pounding in my chest.

I needed a ciggie and cup of tea to calm down...and even then I was in a mood of suppressed anger for the rest of the morning. [:D][:D]

Phew!

cheers,

Ron

Yes, I've had that before. It doesn't mean anything. Just enjoy the moment you wake up and realize that it was just a dream! Always makes me want to practice more.

So let me get this right. What should have been solid wood in your hands had turned to mush. And afterwards there was a bunch of soaking wet paper. It must mean something - but I wonder what ...

Hmm. He did say he had been playing with it a lot. I wonder how his vision is?

Doitsujin -> RE: my guitar has been destroyed!!! (Aug. 1 2010 9:19:54)

1-2 hours ago I woke up from a guitar-nightmare, too. They stole my 2 guitars... When I came back to my apartment...they were gone.. Its was so damn horrible.. I wouldnt not be able to afford a new guitar with the sam quality at the moment without getting to 0Euros on my bank account..

I thought,..what can we do to prevent this damage when our guitars get stolen? Insurance? How much do I have to pay...I mean I own guitars for my entire life and nothing was stolen..I guess I would have paid already 4-5 times the prices of new guitars to the insurance till now..

How do they do it with expensive cars? Inst there a chip or transmitter somewhere hidden? If it doesnt need too much energy that you have to put a big battery in your guitar...I think a small chip with knob-battery behind a cross brance in the guitar that can be tracked would be great.
Than I would only still need some cruel friends and put some money into baseball bats.. and I would be set. [:)]

So..who has experience with trackable chips? [:D]

Ron.M -> RE: my guitar has been destroyed!!! (Aug. 1 2010 11:01:33)

A tracker device could probably be made with the co-operation of the Mobile phone network operators, but would need some kind of International registration scheme to be effective.

If you add the guitars on to ordinary house contents insurance it shouldn't be expensive.

If your guitars get nicked, then it's pretty unlikely that you'll ever see them again.

The Police won't be interested and even if you see them on ebay, then you will need absolute proof of ownership, cos the guy could just say that he bought them from you for cash without a receipt.

cheers,

Ron

Perhaps in his dream it was the guitar Antonio de Torres made with back and sides of papier-mache' to prove it was the soundboard that counted.

I once heard of someone who dreamed he was eating a 25-pound canary and woke up to find his pillow gone.

Cheers,

Bill
