I don't know much about it (or anything else) - but to get the ball rolling: It's played in C. The words often mention something about Madrid (who started that? Chacón maybe?), such as how splendid the Gran Calle de Alcalá looks with all the andaluces walking up and down it. (And if you want to improve the appearance of your street, get a crowd of andalusians to walk up and down it [;)] - it's a nice touch). I assume that the verses have a very different structure from your regular alegrías because the melody seems to be more stretched out and rambling. Then there's a characteristic refrain "Y caracoles, y caracoles..." Allright, let's see what the experts have to say. Meanwhile, have a look (and listen) here: Caracoles
