Hello,
While changing strings on my guitar with a piezo under-saddle pickup I noticed small indentations in the plastic at the positions of E,A, and D wound strings. I can speculate that these are due to the soft material used for the saddle and a natural bone would probable be immune to this damage. However, I want to keep the saddle that is matched to the transducer and just wondering if I should file down and polish these small notches or leave them and make sure that new strings are positioned in the old grooves. Thank you for suggestions.

Bone and ivory wear too. If you can smooth out the notches without lowering the action too much forge ahead. How can a saddle be matched to the transducer? (any saddle will work just as well and bone is better than plastic)

Thank you J. Shelton,
I will make replacing the saddle with bone my next project. What I meant by "matched" was that I've read that polymers are more uniform and therefore would generally work better with piezo.
