Anybody tried building with Lutz at all? Apparently it's a hybrid of Sitka and Englemann found in BC, Canada. We got a really nice 1x4 of it and I used it for bracewood... it's stiff and "ropy" like sitka but basically white in color and seems lighter weight.

I have only built 1 steel string guitar from it but would not hesitate to use it again. lovely timber.
Shane Neifer at High Mountains Tonewoods is renouned for supplying the best quality Lutz

I've built 3 flamenco guitars with it, and thought the spruce was of excellent quality. Also, it was just superbly cut, perfect quarter, and no runout. I got the spruce from Shane Neifer (High Mountain Tonewood) and at least that particular batch was fabulous.
