Hi, Group, I'll be flying to the Philippines next month with a plane change in Taipei, flying coach on EVA airliines. Airline agent was not encouraging re both inchecking my guitar or handcarrying it into the cabin. He strongly suggested I buy a second seat for the guitar (another USD 1,000 outlay). Searched the foro archives and consensus there seems to be (1) handcarry, (2) be as nice (and sneaky) as possible, but (3) become firm, insistent, and even threaten delay if challenged. However these posts are about a year old. Any recent experience from members on this board flying with their guitar(s)? Especially interesting would be advice from those who've just flown the same (or a similar) transPacific route (archive is mostly tranAtlantic). Thanks!
