It does seem to be quite a good value. I'd say that this is an excellent guitar. Comparing to the Ramirez will be tough as that was a few years go. Aesthetically the Ramirez seemed to be more refined overall. When I bought the Ramirez, I got to hear about five of them side by side at GSI - I bought the one that seemed the driest or raspiest, as I think that's the sound I identify with flamenco. It had a sort of old world bite to it. The Castillo seems to sound a little smoother than I remember the Ramirez, but still muy flamenco. Bear in mind that I am a beginner hack, so my judgment of sound is severely affected by how I play it. I will have a better opinion of it once I hear my teacher play it. I'll try to see if he minds me making a little recording during our lesson. Playability is excellent. The neck profile is great to me. I'd have never guessed it was a 660mm from playing it. I'd say the thickness of the neck is on the smaller side of medium, with a flat back center - it's easy on the hands. Overall, I'd say this a fantastic guitar for the money, and most likely a fantastic guitar even without considering the price. It is clearly a very good instrument. If I can get any decent audio recorded I will share it.
