Ron.M -> Turn Professional for the sake of your HAIR! (Mar. 19 2010 1:54:27)

I was just thinking...

When I was about 21-22, I used to like sitting in my single room bed-sit in Glasgow, reading the "entertainments" section at the back of The Sunday Times, as it listed all the stuff that was happening in the legendary clubs and concert halls in London, which to me seemed like the centre of the world for all kinds of music...Rock, Jazz, Folk, Classical, Flamenco...
I'd get a buzz just out of reading some of the artist's names and imagining being there.

Well, it was around this time I started noticing the name Juan Martín as a Flamenco Solo Guitarist appearing in some of the small halls and clubs in and around London.

Now.. (assuming he wasn't 10 or 15 at the time).. that must make him at least the same age as me (60).

So how come after having thick, black curly hair for 40 years, I now have thin, straight, white hair.....but JM still has thick, black curly hair?

Brian May still has the cascading ringlets of shoulder length, black curly hair, despite being 3 years older than me!

Tom Jones, etc etc...Think about it..

Obviously showbiz has a beneficial effect on hair....

(The body in general maybe...since Zsa Zsa Gabor is 93 now and probably has the firmest tits on the planet. [:D])

cheers,

Ron

I decided to grow my hair around the time that I decided to learn Flamenco more seriously. Believe me or not, there is no relationship between playing guitar and my hair; it only happened to be around the same time (mid-life crisis or something like that I suppose!). At that stage in my life I was just fed up with worrying about being nice and neat all the time; so I decided to become a bit scurffy!

I really don’t like people to think that the long hair has something to do with the music; so I decided to cut my hair short, but I couldn’t get the decision past my missis! On top of that, when you have long hair, people expect you to play very well and in response to this expectation, I would really like to shave it off!

Nice hair indeed. I wouldn't mind growing my hair during high school but believe me or not, it was deemed un-islamic by the regime! They would stop you in the street and gave you a crappy hair cut there and then!

In the USA, didn't the Rednecks do that to the Hippies too, back in the 60's?

(Boot on the neck and free short back and sides with a Bowie knife...[:D][:D])

cheers,

Ron

Short hair is saver if you get involved in a bar-fight... They cant pull you on your hair. And you dont have to fear incoming chairs from behind so much with short hair while turning around rapidly gets your eyes covered with long hair...

Ron, the answer to your question couldn't be more simple:

Big celebrities like Juan Martin have access to all manner of exotic medical treatments that average jerks like you and I will never see, monkey glands and whatnot. All that luxurious hair is clearly and purely the result of cutting edge cosmetic engineering.

i think i've heard that wearing an excessive amount of gold can be interpreted as un-islamic as well? if so, tomatito should be careful.

No.. I dont get into any fights. I let my Moroccan friends do the dirty work. They like it, I appreciate it... all right. [;)]

Here are no biker-bums normally... but I guess they would be no problem either. hehe

Do you know this from , nudge nudge wink wink, does she go?

Anyway, I wonder if Sabicas ever got blood transfusions like Kieth Richards did?

And don't forsake Paco's comb over as great flamenco hair.

Richard Jernigan -> RE: Turn Professional for the sake of your HAIR! (Mar. 21 2010 19:10:12)

I don't think Sabicas got blood transfusions for his hair. When I was around him in the early 1960s he wore a toupee. That's one in the photo in this thread.

but you can use long hair to strangle your opponent or attach a steel ball at the end and use it as a long distance weapon

gato -> RE: Turn Professional for the sake of your HAIR! (Mar. 22 2010 0:27:35)

You know, convicts are forced to grow their hair long to measure the effect of concrete on certain levels of toxins found on the body, say beta, gamma...the hair breaks off....

It's a wonder a lot of people in music aren't or weren't doing time in the past or on parol, earning money for restitution payments, or something worse...

[:D][:D][:D]

My hair is short and I like it that way!!!
