He will switch but little by little, it must be hard to change quickly
after so many years with same type of guitars.

And Paco played Condes for decades....why changing? Would make absolutely no sense.. i.e. Nino de Pura changed from barba or however you write it.. There guitars with a crone like thingy on the tip of the head. The guitars have a very bright extremely cheesy sound.. He changed to Conde after a car accident where his barba laid in the back of the car anf got squished... The conde was a VERY good choose for Nino de Pura. ;.)

the fact that i still don't own a Conde, is even more proof that my opinion is not based on personal bias or a marketing compaign. i mean if someone owns a specific brand, then it would be difficult to admit something and say: my guitar sucks, even if it would. that person would most likely defend that brand.
also because he might want to sell it some day.

what a shame, that lester devoe and Paco are obviously just misused by you to prove your prejudices, because in fact i can imagine that Devoes guitars are most likely great guitars (hey, even Paco played one ;-)) . but your intention was obviously something different, which we now can see clearly. first you use Paco to show how great Devoes and how bad Condes are, then after the thread didn't develop like you wished, you make fun of him.

i think you are just mad now, that this story didn't end with "finally no more Conde", but with "back to Conde"

oh and the F05 was sold 3 years ago.

I just want to take a moment to say, Conde are better then the others. They are relatively cheap compaired to collectors guitars, and you can find em used easily at various prices. Don't get ripped off (10k?), but don't write em off either (over hyped?). Pretty much when I am in Spain nobody feels a need to talk bad about em, pretty much nothing is said about it and they are just played and enjoyed by all that can actually play. Other guitars are usually praised as well in spite of everyone having or liking conde best. Example "oh que hermosa guitarra!!! how loud, how easy to play, beautiful look etc etc... then "ok, now give me back the esteso please we need to play..."[;)][:D]

IMO a couple of test drives wont be enough to form an opinion of a guitar less so of a brand.

It's very common to go to a shop, try 10 different guitars and buy one that you like but after a while (at least one month) regret. Because during the minimum one month you will discover many aspects of that guitar that you could have impossibly discovered during the test drive(s).
You need to play it under different circumstances, small room, big room, crowded place, open air, old strings, etc.

To form an opinion of a brand you need to have owned more then one guitar of that brand. As more you have owned of that brand as better an opinion you will form.

Even a Ferrari or cars generally, you need to have used them for a longer period of time to know if you really like them or not.

Paco de Lucia playing Lester Devoe.

I am certain Maestro Paco is recording some of his music
in the new cd with Devoe guitars. in cositas buenas he used
his Devoe in one of the tracks.

Paco is a great musician with excellent ear and impeccable technique. He also has many chances to sample the best guitars (and take them home, if he likes). That's why he is performing and recording on Conde and DeVoe. Both are great guitars, very different from each other, both have individual strengths. Which one is superior? It's apples and oranges. I just know that if I had a chance to buy a Conde, I would, but if it meant trading in my DeVoe for that Conde, I would not do it. My DeVoe is a perfect match for what I want to express right now, and this guitar taught me a lot of subtle nuances that my playing was lacking lately (due to muscle strains in my hands). I absolutely love the sound I get from this new guitar, and only wonder how it will sound in a little while. Perhaps, my demands will change one day, but I don't see it happening soon, and I will not part with this DeVoe in any case.

Now I listened to the performance with the Devoe guitar and to the performance with his Conde..And I must say, sorry guy but IMO the Devoe sounded a little cheap in comparison to the Conde Paco usually uses. Dont get crazy now its my personal feeling you can have a different opinion.

Dont understand me wrong. I dont write that to put Devoe down or to upset other people who like Devoe guitars. Its to the topic. We brought up several arguments why Paco will use the Devoe more in future or not in future.. IMO the sound is a negative point.. the sound just doesnt fit to Pacos "known sound", his aire the people are used to.. So,..he wont change that and go on using Conde and not Devoe.
I also dont belive that Vicente Amigo recorded his latest 3 CDs with a Devoe guitar. He never used a Devoe on stage and his Reyes has an extremely "Vicente characteristic" sound. I just dont belive that because he sounds on all CDs the same.
But Im open for some arguments, better prooves that will change my opinion. Im always willing to change my opinion if there are convincing points.
