This is a 2008 Navarro Student 2 originally purchased from lafalseta. This is one of 2 guitars that were customized with "rose" rosettes that were sent to Navarro by gjMichelob. He had the other for a while and I got this one from kovachian. Here is the original thread from when I bought it:
http://site409.mysite4now.net/simonsh/site1/tm.asp?m=113564&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=navarro%2C2008&tmode=&smode=&s=#114267

Cedar top, cypress back and sides, 650 scale.
I further customized this guitar by installing Planetary Pegs, which work great. Easier and more accurate tuning than wooden pegs and still bring up strings real quick, and have the look and approximate weight traditional pegs. I consider these to be value added to the guitar.

The sound of this guitar is very very good. I would imagine it is one of the better Navarro student guitars out there, and compared very favorably with a Navarro concert guitar that I have played. This guitar is more percussive and punchy. In fact it is one of the most percussive guitars I have played, and if you are looking for a guitar with a real Flamenco bite for under a grand, THIS IS IT!

It does have a couple of small scratches in the finish here and there and a few behind the bridge, but hey, you're going to play it not put it in a case right?!?

Anyway, $775 takes it, including the hard case. Shipping will be IN ADDITION to that. $35 to the US, overseas I will have to get a quote.

That's a real cheap offer, especialy if it is equiped with the Planetary Pegs.
Why do you want to sell it?

The rosette definately looks a look nicer as the original ones.

Which city and state will you be shipping it from, Deteresa? I may be interested... it is the most incredible instrument for the money.

Incidentally, would you still have the original pegs it come with?

That is such a corny, lovely rosette. I have seen the ready-made rosettes like that and always fancied one. Reminds me of my visits to Spain in the late 60s. Good choice for that guitar.

The bullfight posters, the smell of black coffee, sweet raw sewage and Celtas, the mules, castañuelas and the señoras with their mantillas and abanicos at the fiesta. [:D]

I was moved reading your lyrical prose

Take it from me (original owner), that guitar is a cannon [:D] Don't pass it up! I had to pass up on buying it back, only because I had already bought a spruce top.

A couple of people have asked me why I want to sell... basically I'm finishing my own build now and I have to pay for the materials on that, and continue to fund my apprenticeship.
Yes the roses are classy and a perfect complement to this traditional instrument.

gj, I'm shipping from Ithaca, NY.

kozz, would you like to pay more? [:D] Feel free to make a bid amigo

RTC -> RE: Navarro Student blanca 2008 (Feb. 12 2010 16:33:10)

Hee deteresa,
I had seriously givin it some thought, but with the shipping costs and the extra taxes its not benificial for me.

The one who gets his hands on it, is a lucky person....
