2001 Conde Hermanos - Concert Blanca "A26" from The Felipe V Shop

This particular Blanca was handpicked and easily one of the best flamenco guitars I have ever played. As a professional guitarist, I've performed with this guitar primarily in the studio. It's in very good condition with only minor wear and sounds absolutely fantastic!

Specifications:

Top: German Spruce - Back & Sides: Royal Spanish Cypress - Scale length: 650 mm - Nut Width: 53mm - Finish: French Polish - Action Height: under 3mm at the 12th Fret

Feel free to contact me at 503-450-0000 (ext. 1) with any question. I'm asking $5,995.00 USD but, I'll be glad to hear reasonable offers. Thank you.

Is this guitar still for sale?If so let me know.

Güiro -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Oct. 27 2010 3:54:34)

I have this guitar now. I am considering selling it since I could use the money. I might consider a trade for a Sanchis blanca plus cash.

KMMI77 -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Oct. 29 2010 7:25:01)

Hey Guiro,

There is a guy on you tube who sent me a message wanting to know if i would consider swapping my conde or maldonado for his Sanchis. He might be worth talking to.

This is the guy,

BTW i don't know him but he seems genuine to me. He's willing to meet in person etc...

gkoovs -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Nov. 28 2010 17:45:45)

Thanks
Micahel

I can't speak for the quality of this guitar, but Condes with a half moon type headstock tend to be the more top of the line models. It is possible that the models that are cheaper are not concert guitars, and not just possible, highly probable.

Condes are fetching a ton of money right now. Everyone who owns one wants to make a killing it seems to me, so why would they charge so little on ebay? New condes are about 8000$ easy if not more.

ralexander -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Mar. 10 2011 3:14:18)

burlesque, the Conde history is interesting and confusing - you should read up on it. I'm quite sure the ebay guitars are student models (EF4, EF5 or EF5N). Nate's guitar is a concert A26, very different animal.

elgreco -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Mar. 10 2011 6:15:47)

Hi Burlesque,

First of all the only A26 equivalent model listed in ebay is going for $5.6k and it is a 93 Gravina:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1993-Conde-Hermanos-Flamenco-Blanca-/180633199644?pt=Guitar&hash=item2a0e93e41c#ht_761wt_1059

I feel most people in this forum usually give fair to great deals for the most part and I have noticed that sometimes people have made comments about prices offered while comparing apples to oranges. Do not take this the wrong way, I am sure you have good intentions but I believe people should be really careful how they phrase their questions in the classifieds section because they may unintentionally hurt somebody financially.

Now to answer your question as well as express some of my own opinions:
1. Guiro's guitar is a 2001 A26 concert blanca. It is a newer, concert model.
2. It was made in the Felipe V shop, that for better or for worse it is more respected or at least monetarily higher valued ($10K in GSI for current 2009 A26 model) http://www.guitarsalon.com/product.php?productid=3615
3. It is an A26 hence a "signed" concert model. From my experience, the signed Condes cannot be compared to the "professional" unsigned models. (I am a Conde concert model owner myself and have tried a few professional models)
4. I think guiro is giving this guitar in a very good price and I have heard sound clips of it. He really sounds great and so does the guitar. I guess I would have compared guiro's price to Dan Zeff's listing: https://www.danzeffguitars.com/showitem.cfm?id=133&menu=flamenco&type=guitars
5. It comes with french polish which is more complicated to apply than the typical Conce orange lacquer hence more expensive.
6. Finally the ebay listings you are referring to are about guitars that have REPAIRED CRACKS and are shipped from Budapest. I mean come on....!

D.

You're right Harry, the Media Lunas are the top of the line models... whichever shop the guitar comes from.
I also agree with you that some Conde owners are trying to make a killing with their instruments, but USD 5,000 is a really good price for a good Conde. It's unfortunate that the different Conde shops practice different marketing strategies. Some of them definitely live off the Conde name but cannot match with the Conde quality... It doesn't help the reputation of the name in general and the buyer is often left in a state of confusion as to which shop builds the 'real' Condes. In my experience you have to try them... I've played some excellent guitars from the Felipe shop and some bad ones too. I can say the same thing about the Gravina and the Atocha shops.
Currently I have an Atocha blanca from 1998 which is the best Conde I've ever played. I paid USD 5,500 for it and I feel that the price was very fair for a guitar of this quality. A good Conde is one of the best guitars you can find, they have something special about them... it's not just the sound, it's the way the guitar reacts to your playing and projects. It's also the way it cuts across when accompanying dancers or when you put a mic in front of them. There are some really good makers out here who will build you an amazing instrument for a very fair price... I am lucky enough to own such instruments, but at the end of the day, my Conde is still my favorite guitar when gigging, teaching and playing at the dance studio. it's all a question of finding a good one, which can be quite tedious. So always try before buying, it's the golden rule when it comes to Conde.

Ruphus -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Mar. 10 2011 11:23:36)

Right!
From last time that I checked, these are being sold for around 9000 € new I think ( yep, in US probably for considerbaly less, like for most of European products ).

Don´t know what dealers in US exactly inquire, but if this one is in decent condition Güiro´s offer ought to be a bargain.
It should be really worth driving over to him and checking out the guitar.

The one Media Luna that I came accross once was quite tempting.

burlesque -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Mar. 11 2011 2:31:41)

I am really sorry, i thought this is the student model from conde shop. i suggest the seller to delete this post and make a new one. to be honest i offered my self $4000 to a seller on a conde last year... and he said no, so considering that .. this price is reasonable.

Güiro -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Jul. 23 2011 23:27:21)

lowering price to $4500

Arash -> RE: 2001 Conde Hermanos A26 - For Sale (Dec. 29 2011 7:39:09)

i think this was a good deal (in Germany).
Normally i don't buy guitars before playing them, but i made an exception
Unfortunately people did bid more than me and i didn't win the auction.
