Thank you. Here's the suggestion I received from LMI, almost word for word the same answer, so now I know what to do. "Instead of wood filler, use a toothpick to fill it with a drop of super glue. I make my own toothpick from the same wood in the same grain direction and glue it in. A straight edge razor blade works to cut off the excess." This worked well and is easy. I used a regular tooth pick.
