Pimientito -> Gig prices (Jan. 2 2010 3:43:49)

Happy 2010 everybody. There have been a couple of recent threads about careers in Flamenco. I guess this post is for the more professional players. I am interested in how much professionals charge for corporate gigs these days. I have done a search of pricings for gigs but cant find what Im looking for. Someone posted a link to a site of a pro player with price listings but I cant find that either.

I am not talking about restaurants or weddings. What I would like to know is if a corporate event hires a musician, what do you charge? Do you use an agent? What do you charge do play a big theatre? I have talked to some professionals about this and its very varied. I know how much guys like Paco and Vicente charge for events. I would like to know what some of the professionals here charge. Obviously its going to depend on the numbers of musicians and dancers involved but is it possible to to expect to earn 2000 dollars/euros for corporate concerts?

Also how many of the pros here use agents to get gigs?

I would appreciate any Private messages from anyone who doesnt want to post this stuff publically on the forum

Really? How much?[8|]

It has to do with the value of money on each country.
In greece a musician who is not a band leader or famous, but simply part of the group, or even soloist (except singer), takes 75euros-350euros maximum. If it is a concert you can go at 300euros-800euros naximum.
But this is not for flamenco.

Hey Marcos - sorry I am not exactly qualified to answer the question of the topic, but I just wanted to say your user pic at the Mirador (right?) is awesome. Oh, I'm getting Granada-sick...again...

Hey thanks Adam. That one was taken at the Chumbera mirador in the Sacromonte. I got some publicity photos taken in the summer like these.

Looking very soulful Pim! Though we can't see your pony! I've always liked it.

Good photos, Pim!

You look a bit like the young Serranito there!

cheers,

Ron
