Chiste de Gales -> Flamenco on iTunes- what to buy? (Dec. 29 2009 4:05:40)

For Christmas I received $30 in gift cards to the iTunes store. I've never
used iTunes before and have found that they dont even have a Flamenco
category of music. They do have some recordings, but they are hard to find.

Can the foro suggest to me some good stuff to get? I prefer puro, but I
can be happy with the right nuevo stuff. I like both accompanied cante
and solo guitar recordings.

I get albums here already:

I noticed on the Itunes store (I'm in the UK) that the entire Camaron boxset "Integral" is just £7.99! It includes every album he ever recorded!

It's obviously some kind of mistake - it looks like the record company has just put everything in Camaron's back catalogue on itunes at the same price (if you buy the albums individually they are each the same price - £7.99).

So buy it before the record company notice!

I bought the CD boxset a couple of years back for £150.00!

Thanks for the tip. That "Integral" set doesnt show up on the yank side, but I spotted a 2-disc 1971 release of Camaron that gave me more ideas. It had some stuff with Terremoto de Jerez and Curro Malena, who I like better than Camaron.

You can always go to a site like flamencoworld.com and listen to CD's on there to get ideas. When you find one you like, search the artists name in itunes. Chances are you will find the album on there.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Ill definitely check out Ricardo Marlow.

I've also discovered a new way of approaching this:
I got on www.pandora.com and set up a flamenco
radio station. It takes a lot of intervention for it to
learn a person's preferences, but after a while it will
play some good new-to-me stuff that is all available
on i-tunes.

I think im going to get this album first:

Hi
I saw Ricardo's Album on Spotify.
Itunes is good I had been searching for a download of Tauromagia and the Paco/Camaron albums online for last 3 months or so on and off. Just got them from itunes. Also like the rent movie feature as well. I recommend
"Moon"
cheers
Richard
