I guess the search engine is down. I would like to expose myself to Tomatito. BY LISTENING TO HIS RECORDINGS!!! [:D]
Please let me know which ones to buy. To begin, I would prefer those sin cantando.
Thanks,
kev

i'd go in a chronological order, Rosas del Amor (87), Barrio Negro (91), Guitarra Gitana (97), Paseo de los Castanos (01), Aguadulce (04), the latter has some cante on it...but it'd be foolish to skip his album with Duquende (93), it's a cante album, but his playing is exceptional there also...there are also the two Spain albums, you might like them (i don't)...
it's about time he came out with something new (anthologies don't count :))

the album with pansequito is sublime, real gem also and some unique falsetas or alternatives to his "standard" ones

Yeah.....and the 1987 "Flamenco en vivo" is a must have album. One of the best flamenco albums of all time in my opinion (lets not start a fight) and one of the best examples of how to accompany cante.

I get where you are coming from in that you might be more interested in solo guitar playing right now but I rate Tomatito as a better accompanist than a solo player. You should definately listen to his playing on that album!

OK, thanks for the suggestions. It's not that I don't like cante, it's just that I am focused on the guitar right now. I spent several years in different cities in Spain & enjoyed quite a variety of live flamenco & I only recently started to rediscover it on recordings.
Thanks again,
kev
