Ziryab -> No Teacher :'( (Aug. 25 2004 22:55:20) Hi friends,,, I am so sad, I don`t trust myself even if I play hard falsetas for paco or tomatito....ect , even if I have great technique, still didn`t meet flamenco teacher, still don`t know how flamenco players learning under a teacher in flamenco school, still don`t know if the only thing that I can do is learning by books, videos, transcription.. is it to learn & play alot of falsetas on each style "Alegria, solea, buleria,,,," what is the tips & what is the levels, I feel that I am lost [:o] there must be a constant ways to developing I need to know it. this forum make me so happy it is like a city in spain for me I trust all of you friends so I need your help & comments thanks [:)]

Ron.M -> RE: No Teacher :'( (Aug. 26 2004 8:26:46) Hi Ziryab, Don't be too sad, you're doing just fine. Most of us "foreign" guitar fans don't have a teacher. We just pick up things here and there, wherever we can, and I can assure you things were much worse before the Internet and Encuentro Videos and Books! Having a teacher is great, but as with anything on the guitar it's 0.1% lesson and 99.9% practise! My own feeling is that to do Flamenco Guitar properly, you would have to live in Andalucia where you could get together with some amateur singers and dancers and regularly play together for fun. That's where you would learn a great deal. Sadly that's not possible for many of us, so we just have to do the best we can. Luckily for you, you are at an age where a professional career in Flamenco is possible. So don't despair! cheers Ron
