You know, I've been studying this for a while and one of the techniques that women use to gain the upper hand is to either move the goalposts or slide the focus of the argument away.....
eg...
Me: How did those scratches get on the back of the car?
Wife: Because of the stupid way you parked it....I couldn't see where I was going when I was reversing.
Me: But you're supposed use the mirrors...or wind down the window and just look, for crying out loud!!
Wife: Well I was in a hurry and didn't have time after mowing the lawn. Maybe if YOU had mowed the lawn it would have been some help.
Me: But that's still no excuse for damaging the car!!
Wife: OK....Tell me the last time YOU mowed the lawn....or did the washing and ironing? Eh?
Me: ..But.....
Wife: Yes...EXACTLY! You CAN'T!! You just sit around playing with that stupid guitar all the time.
Me: But I've hardly even had the guitar out of it's case in about 3 weeks!
Wife: Oh, so is the age starting to affect your memory too?....Look, some of us are too BUSY to stand around and argue....Some of us have WORK to do!!
(Door slams)
