Hi All!

I am going to visit Sevilla in November for about a week with two frends of mine.
( I know, live sucks.....)

To make this all a bit bearable for me, do you have some tips for nice places to see some good flamenco?

Also other tips are welcome, accomodations to rent, nice shops for cd, or sheet music etc.

Also I collect wooden cejilla's ( capo's), or if you think now, if he goes there, he aught to visit that too...tellme!

Thanks in advanced, and i wish, that after such a dreadfull experiance, i will still be the same person, but somebody got to do the job....

greetings, Peter.

Definitely check out Casa Damas on calle Sierpes for Flamenco Cd´s, sheet music, etc.
Also, the large department store 'El Corte Ingles' has a good selection of Flamenco CD´s. The guy who could really give you some good info is Miguel de Maria on this forum. I hope he sees your inquiry.

Phil

El Postigo's guitar emporium?

Thanks Phil!

I write that down!

Simon,
what is El Postigo's guitar emporium?
Sounds like heaven for guitarists, but I have no clue!

I wrote a reply earlier, but it didn't seem to take. I second what Phil said. Also, for live music check out El Arenal (my favorite tablao--awesome!) and Los Gallos (what I've heard is the best one). Check out Cafe del Sol in the Plaza del Sol, the student show put on by the Cristina Heeren Fundacion school, which I attended for a summer course. The Postigo guitar shop is very small and expensive, although he does sell some marca Postigo guitars for cheap, about 500 Euros that I thought was a good value. He woudln't let me play his Condes, I guess he thought I was too poor to buy one. But you may as well check that place too, it's right in the tapas zone.

Hey Peter-

Go check out La Carbonería - kinda touristy, but pretty cool too! See here
