my problem is this: I dont know where to find a teacher. I noticed a few Oregonians lurking about and thought they might be able to help me out. I would be extremely grateful for the name of anybody in within 35 miles of portland. Sorry for the delay in my response. I've been busy with a house remodel project that got out of hand, as usual, and haven't had time to lurk for a while. I live in Portland and take flamenco lessons from Steve Edwards at the Portland Music Company store on NE Broadway (the acoustic store) every Saturday. He also teaches in Vancouver during the week. Good guy and an excellent teacher. He can play all things guitar, but flamenco is his first love, which is how it should be. [:D] He charges $22 per half hour for individual lessons and something like half that for group lessons, which although far more affordable would not be nearly as effective, IMHO. I go for an hour because I feel like we're just getting into it 30 minutes into the lesson, but most of his students go for a half hour. Here's a link to the PMC teacher website with more information about Steve, including his phone number: http://www.portlandmusiccompany.com/teachers.html Downing The Portland Lurker [:(] ---> me, before taking lessons [sm=Smiley Guitar.gif] ---> me, after taking lessons
