Maybe it's because I have long fingers, but I noticed I have a handful of dent marks below where the golpeador ends. I think it's from doing annular golpe while strumming with the thumb. Does anyone have this problem? How damaging is it to the guitar? Is there any way to protect the wood ore reverse the situation? I hate seeing my very nice guitar get tarnished. Does this just come with the territory?

I'd say no! golpeadors by their very design are meant to prevent this obviously

how long are your fingers?? I have long fingers but dont have this problem.

unless you have monstrously long fingers or a tiny golpeador then you should work on fixing this problem (the technique, not the wood of the guitar!)[:D]

im not sure what to suggest to help really without seeing what youre doing.

I did this to my guitar as well.

The reason are uneconomical movements of the right hand.

My guitar has a lot of little scratches already so I don't try to save anything anymore, but I reduced the movement of the fingers automatically by the time.

I have a nasty habit of playing way above the soundhole, almost over the 15th fret. I have left hundreds of nail indents in the upper right bout of my guitars. The solution is simple. Buy some clear self adhesive film from your favourite hardware store and slap it on!

Yep,
I'm afraid I'm guilty of that too.
Generally it's the middle to bridge side below the tap plate.

Also I tend to keep a long pinky nail which even when not in use drags against the lower part of the bridge and rubs off the French polish over time.

Still, a guitar is there to be used and I'd be paranoid if I had to worry about every little scratch and ding.
