This sounds somewhat "Tomatito-ish" and at the same time "Morao-ish".
Anybody any idea of who the guitarist is?
It's probably something famous which I've never come across before!
(I don't have a lot of solo albums)

Ron,

I´m in an internet cafe over in Majorca, no sound card and a funny looking keyboard with all sorts of odd graphics, so I can´t hear the clip.
(great help eh!)
Anyway, I´ll crack it if no one else has when I get back.

Cheers
Jim

PS how´s the weather?

Florian,
It's the "theme music" from the Festival de Otoño last year in Jerez.
Ondajerez just played bits of it between the adverts and the programme.
I tried to tape the show, but the video and audio kept dropping out due my slow connection even though the picture was the size of a postage stamp and the audio very low quality mp3.
I might have some other bits, but would have to search them out.
I thought maybe someone would recognize the track or CD it came from.

cheers

Ron

Hi Jim,
Hoping you're having a great time there!
I'm pretty sure you'll crack it once you hear it.
The weather here?
For the last week we have been sitting in a cloud of sea mist (har).
Hadn't even seen a glimpse of the sun, until I went into Stonehaven (4 miles away)
There the sun was shining and everybody was walking around in T shirts, shorts and flip flops.
And here was me in a big coat!
When I got back to the car I was dripping with sweat and practically passing out from heat exhaustion.
As I drove up the hill to the dual carriageway, I once again entered the cloud and the temperature dropped dramatically.
When I got back home the visibility was about 100 metres and freezing.
So I slipped my coat back on and was glad to get inside the house for a heat!
Funny the way these microclimates work, isn't it?

cheers

Ron

This is the worst.......I HAVE this recording but I can't place it (or find it at the present).
I'm almost certain it's Moraíto Chico....I just can remember which album. I just ran through Morao Y Oro, nope (I thought at first it was his "Buleriando" track....alas no). I know it's him because I know how the rest of that recording goes (I can hear it in my head right now......*twitch* *twitch*.....).

Then it must be off of MORAO,MORAO

This is maddening.....I hate when this happens......[:@][&:]

Hi Ron,

Worked my way down to factor 20, started with factor 50. Us fair skinned folk can´t take 95 degrees with high RH.
I´ve now aclimatised but as always, soon be time to go home.

Yea!, that North East coastal Har, thing is you drive up the hill through the har and on your way back down your car packs up and you have to walk the last mile or so.
That coastal town however, has now become a quaint little fishing village and all the locals speak in a starnge way and go silent when you enter the inn and ask for directions......

Yea, been there.

Hi Jim,
Some of us have to live in that cloud that others have only visited LOL!
Have been listening to Ondajerez into the wee hours tonight, there was a guitarist who looked so much like you there, I'd have sworn it was you!
Played a great Malagueñas, Solea por Bulera and a great Soleares.
Are you sure you're in Mallorca?

***interlude and soft music****

....Back again!
Was here during the adverts and went back to see a brilliant Bulerias finale!
(By the way Jim, I saw the guitarist was tapping his foot on 12,2,4,6,8,10..[;)])
Really!
Great stuff anyway!
I really don't think anybody can get into Bulerias without seeing how the cante works.
But that is where Bulerias is at IMO.
I think that this 12,3,6,10 or 12,3,7,8,10 is just a fragment of the complete picture.

Sí, es difícil para estranjeros...porqué no?

cheers

Ron

Ron.M -> RE: Can Anyone tell me who this guitarist is? (Aug. 24 2004 8:14:05)

Thanks Ziryab!
That's the info I was needing.
Unfortunately Morao Morao is currently out of print. [:o]

cheers

Ron

Jim Opfer -> RE: Can Anyone tell me who this guitarist is? (Aug. 25 2004 17:30:29)

Hi Ron,

Sounds like Moraito playing but I don't recognise it from Morao Morao?

Jim.

Escribano -> RE: Can Anyone tell me who this guitarist is? (Aug. 25 2004 19:28:33)

Sounds "down and dirty in Jerez" and Moraito's thumb may be apparent.

BTW - for new members, here is a reminder of the infamous clip of me and Melchor giving Moraito a few tips (don't worry, it starts the wrong way up)
