Pimientito -> To the shred heads (and ex-shred heads) (Jun. 29 2009 11:21:14)

I have been clearing up and found my old beloved Ibanez Jem which i havent touched in years gathering dust in a cubpboard so just out of interest I checked it out on ebay for comparison

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110404431846

Its going $2000. Is that about right? Is it really worth that much? Do you think he will get a buyer at that price. If so I am going to sell mine! Its original and in as good codition as this one.

Pim, you should do an "advanced search" of this item on eBay and check the "completed listings." Retention is only 30 days so to determine the price you should search as I described for a few months. The Ibanez Edge tremolo system is considered a high quality unit by many people, but the best ones may have been made before a certain cutoff date, e. g., 1995. Graphics and neck inlays can be important in pricing an instrument, too. Some graphics can greatly increase the value of the guitar.

I would take my time if I were you and would even consider waiting until the economy recovered a bit before selling.
