kozz -> Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 16 2009 21:20:02)

Is it possible to have this guy to be removed from the forum?

I can't read the other posts anymore because of all the PDL techniques everywhere.
It is possible to live without PDL and still enjoy Flamenco.

Personally I find ALL other contributions to the forum much more constructive and inspirational than just that thiny little era where PDL seems to rule to scepter, and the whole focus is on since prof.dr.R.D. is here.

Or he should obey, which is hard for him, the forum rules, and post his things in the correct thread, or he should be removed in order to keep things together overhere.

Just my 50cents.

Florian -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 16 2009 21:39:06)

yeah this is becoming a bit of a nuisance now with a million posts on a million threads all saying the same thing...its a mess

perhaps ruben should just stick to one title and one tread at the time that would give the rest of us a brake..and allow the rest of us to have a conversation or get on with our activities

i dont wanna get involved in his treads anymore but every thread i click on its the same thing with a diff title

i hope that admin dosent have to do anything..i hope ruben will see this and do show a bit of consideration for the rest of the foro who arent interested in his arguments before admin need to interfear and slap his hand like hes 10

9 pages and 20 titles of the same discussion its ridicoulos

Munin -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 16 2009 23:05:52)

No matter his views, I appreciate Ruben posting his lessons here and would be sad if that had to be stopped by the admins but yes, this all-over-the-place posting really has to stop...

michel -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 16 2009 23:26:24)

thank you kozz,
totally agreed...
i liked PDL also and the thread with the picture of paco during the wedding of his daughter is OK, but these other 120 PDL threads a day sucks now, sorry it really sucks - i removed all the PDL-music from my mp3-player, i can't hear this subject anymore.
I'm also aware of the respectful behaviour between all the foro members before this mess begun, everything caused by one ego-damaged person... is this really serious what's going on here? i can't believe that... [:o]

JasonMcGuire -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 16 2009 23:52:17)

It has been reduced to comedy. It started with Prof.D being extremely opinionated and making statements about who wasn't (mainly myself) qualified to teach flamenco guitar.
I made a few serious posts in defense of my name and in the course got my friend ans flamenco singer from Sevilla to come on board here at the foro and begin to discuss cante and accompniment. Since then it has indeed begun to loose its entertainment value. But at least we got a singer around here. Not completely negative......

Yes, a silver lining to this cloud! Thank you Jason and Felix.

I've been observing all this up until now, and would like to contribute a few thoughts.

Estimado Sr Diaz: You are plainly a fine guitarist, and any sharing of your knowledge will always be welcome here, as long as it is done with respect for other views and other players. I don't mind where you are from or who you have learnt with, I can just see you have skill that I admire and would like to learn from. I don't think we can really say what is going on with the repeated posts here and on other Foros, but it does seem to be unusual behaviour. Do you think it would help to talk to someone off the Foro about what is happening?

To everyone else: If Ruben isn't well, and I emphasise if because we can't really tell, perhaps we should just all give him some space? For whatever reason it seems he doesn't seem able to change his behaviour at the moment. I think we want to be a caring and compassionate community. We've made our point, we don't need to keep making fun of him now. Please?

To Admins: In the future Ruben may have some really great contributions to add to our knowledge. It may help to just restrict his posting rights for a while? Just a suggestion.

I love this Foro - let's keep it positive.

Flamenco hugs.

Ailsa
xx

JasonMcGuire -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 1:06:52)

Alisa,

Of course it would be you to bring things around. You are right. I won't make fun of him anymore.

Ruben, I am sorry I made fun of your shirt and invited people to perform your lessons with socks on their hands (and other body parts). You don't have to prove anything further to me, I accept you as you are. Lets have a drink together sometime!

Arash -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 1:25:48)

This is all correct about this Person Diaz.

But don't blame it on Paco!
What does it mean to say "it is possible to live without Paco", just because someone else is doing these things here??

or "i removed all Paco music from my MP3 Player"

[&:][&:][&:]

So, if tomorrow another Ruben Diaz appears and do the same thing with Ricardo, or Jason, or someone else.....you would all remove their recordings from your MP3 player too and say same comments??

[&:][&:][&:]

So Childish thread !!

Arash,
nothing personal to PDL.
But I must admid when I hear the word flamenco it is always directly connected to PDL.
What about Paco Serrano, Pace Cepero etc., also Paco's, personally I get much more carried away on the vibes which Cepero produces.

As I say, it is personal, technically PDL might be No1 for a lot of people, I don't listen to technicallities when I am listening to music, but the vibes it produces.

Eg. I am a huge fan of Fela Kuti and his band(s). If you listen to the guitarists (like 6 on stage, each playing a different riff), the don't play to show of, but to get the groove going.

But to be quit honest, when I hear the word Paco, my hair starts raising....I'll need some Valium I think,....[:D]....and the good thing is, I'll have them around[;)]

On the contrary, I'm really eager to learn more about accompanieng cante. I've did a one month course on your side and tried to play along with Felix and Yaelisa, technically I wasn't able to, but it did release some serotonine, which felt good [;)]...so that must be the path to follow.

This was not my point.
You can like or dislike whoever you want.
Paco can be the last number in your list: NO problem with that!

The point is, i have the feeling that Paco is beeing made Scapegoat for someone elses behaviour.
Paco is not here, never said anything. Never said like or dislike my music.

So the TIMING and the Place here in this thread is not good to say that someone prefers someone else over Paco, or that someone deletes music from Paco, because it is clear that it has nothing to do with Paco or his music.

michel -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 2:20:19)

well i wrote 8 lines, not 250 lines, didn't offend anyone, i respect Paco a lot
and i wrote that all these PDL threads sucks, and i have no further comment to add, just 8 lines to express my point of view

kozz -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 2:35:19)

Well, I am having a break from the Forum.
I'll see if things have eased down a little bit in a while...

Thanks for the fun time and the great help everyone, but I really dislike all this tense behaviour on almost every thread.

Arash -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 3:11:41)

If my comment made you angry, i am sorry and apologize, but that was my honest opinion of what i think happened here in this thread between the lines (and also somewhere in another thread of Ruben with things like "i don't want to learn anything from paco.." or such things:

A little unnecessary disrespect to Paco, just because someone else is using his name and behaving in a bad manner. this is not fair towards paco.

All that paco gave us was beautiful music and inspiration.
Paco is not Ruben, and Ruben is not Paco.

Florian -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 4:12:14)

are you guys starting on eachother now ? cmon this is silly..i understand what u are both saying

Kozz is sick of seeing the name Paco for a while...i dont blame him, Ruben has overused it...it has nothing to do with Paco himself and his skill.. and Arash you think that hes making him a scape goat or disrespecting him wich hes not..

I AM sick of reading Paco for a while..not cause i dont like him ...i just wanna talk about other things too

none of you are going anywhere as u are needed for the cante challenge [:)]

serious, cmon...dont argue over silly things

Arash -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 4:35:50)

yeah maybe Flo is right.
maybe all these threads made us a bit stressed out in some way or other.
so, sorry kozz and michel, maybe my reaction was a bit harsh too.
my only intention was to try to distinguish things a little.
anyway, peace, and lets carry on with other positive things in the foro.

kozz -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 5:51:53)

Arash,
no appologies needed...we'll got carried away I suppose, including myself.

Just wanted the spirit back as it was.
Talking about gitars, falsetas, helping eachother out, showing of via Youtube, challenges and all those things...that is pretty unique, and pretty enjoyable....

michel -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 17 2009 7:06:11)

peace

Chiste de Gales -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 18 2009 7:01:30)

www.rubendiazPDLforum.com is an available domain.
Maybe he can make his own forum.

jonc -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 18 2009 16:37:30)

As thrilled as I was at first to see Ruben's paco-posting, I must admit to feeling a bit weary.

The very bright side of this is that I feel less impressed by my own advances in playing classic paco solo pieces, and am going to start attending local dance classes to learn accompaniment.

So, um, thanks(?) ruben!

cathulu -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 18 2009 18:00:11)

Please let this thread die a merciful death and fade to obscurity at the bottom of the page and then beyond! No more posts please, I beg you.

avimuno -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 18 2009 21:29:16)

Honestly though... is it possible to remove him?!?! :-P

JasonMcGuire -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 18 2009 21:40:41)

Well.... even though Ruben has spoken very negatively against me and not in any way offered anything remotely resembling an apology. He does have valuable information that many could benefit from. Let's see how he handles future posts and critical questions from members.

We dug into him pretty hard and I am sure he got the message. Let's give him a chance to earn our respect as a person as he has with his guitar playing.

Pimientito -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 20 2009 8:23:54)

I found this fascinating prophecy from the Gnostic book of Pilate

Chapter 2
14. And on the seventh day the lord said let there be an incredibly fast guitar player and lo, he created Yngwie Malmsteen. And the people trembled for he had a name that could be only uttered in tongues and he was indeed very fast.
15. And the multitude said unto him, hast thou heard of Paco de Lucia and he replied that he had not. And the people forsake him.
16. And so it came to pass that in the west a young prophet (known as prof. for short) entered the forum and was embraced as a brother. But the prophet saw wickedness and false witness among the people and he spake unto the multitude saying there is only one true guitarist. And verily he was ridiculed for his heretical rhetoric.
17. But the prophet continued saying unto them, if thou canst prove my falsehood I will be filled with humility but if thou canst not, thou shalt be at the mercy of my teachings until the end of your days.
18.And the people tried to caste him out of the forum but the prof. sought appeasement to the almighty Ron and was rewarded for his atonement by permission to enter the forum once more as a brother.
19. And lo, he continued to preach there and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and many posts were deleted, and the multitude grew weary. And there were many who proclaimed the prof. to be hailed as a large goat.

Pim you are wicked!! We already agreed to stop all this, but that was hilarious.... [:o]

Pimientito -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 20 2009 8:36:46)

You're right Ailsa. I offer my sincere apologies to mr Malmsteen for my jovial bufoonery

Ailsa -> RE: Please remove prof.dr.R.Diaz (Jun. 20 2009 8:53:45)

I know you just keep bringing his name up because you are a Yngwie look-alike!

I took my son to hear him in London last year. Spent most of the gig with increasing amounts of tissue paper in my ears to protect my eardrums [:D]
