Hi, I just noticed your post. I have an R2, what did you want to know ?
I like mine a lot, good sweet tone, perfect intonation, beautiful finish. Strung with LISA strings. I got it in 1997, built in 1993. Improves in tone every year. Installed Herco tapping plates on it many years ago. Noticed an improvement in volume after that. I might be selling it to pay for my Lester Devoe blanca.

HuBaghdadi: the R2 is a factory guitar and like most factory guitars there can be a wide variation in the sound. years ago i purchased an used R2 and it proved to be a good guitar--but i was able to "test drive" it on a couple of occasions. i would definitely "test drive" one.

the issue with ramirez factory guitars is that they are very overpriced compared to other factory guitars of equal or better sound quality. i think they list in the ballpark $1200-1500 and one can get a guitar of comparable quality for a whole lot less. since this is a flamenco forum are you thinking about getting one as a negra? or as a classical? if the former, i have heard the alhambra negra (7 FP) is a pretty good negra for the money. if the latter, i would recommend to shop around or possible look into a E-2. I have found a lot of the R-2 to be a little thin in the sound and the E-2 has a fuller sound.

as a side note: if you are looking for a classical guitar to play classical music i have a used asturias ast 50 for sale for $375. this guitar has a ramirez 1-a sound board configuration (cedar with the angled treble strut), solid rosewood back and sides, new schaller machines. it has a good ramirez sound to it. i would be happy to let you test drive it. just a thought.
