Hello people,
A while ago I posted something that the fun in playin was gone, that's totally back nowadays.
Now I am totally fed up with my Alhambra 3F and I am going to look this weekend for another guitar, which do sound flamenco-ish

Since I am not able to spent a 3000 euro's yet at the moment I am goin to look for something around a 1000-1500 euro's.

Does anyone has experiences with the ones below?
JUAN HERNANDEZ - Profesor Flamenca
RICARDO SANCHIS LOPEZ - model 2F05
MANUEL ADALID - 2GR 9F

I know I have to play them myselves in order to know what is a good one for me, but I am curious to what you guys think.

Perhaps I should wait, but I really can't anymore, the 3F sound is not contributing to the pleasure anymore :).

I've been promoting it ever since I bought one, and I won't stop: If you can get the 2F-05 for under 1000 Euro, I think that's one of the best deals you can get. Probably one of the best midrange blancas out there, I have mine since November and I absolutely love it. It seems to be pretty popular too and apparently they're really consistent in quality as well.

So the RSL-2F05 seems have some smiles on peoples faces...

I don't think it'll be under a thousand, I believe it was 1195 euro's so that's fine with me.

Yip, that's true...but for the Anders I really liked the 1A Peghead, and that's about 2800 euro's. It'll take another half a year to get the money together, and I am a bit on a hot seat at the moment [;)]

Soundwise I prefer the oldskool above the nuevo-sound, if you can put it that way. Don't now how to explain it, but I like the cryspy sound and not the very warm round sound which a lot of solo guitarists seem to prefer nowadays.

It'll be fun to shop....I've never done that before, just sit and try a whole bunch of guitars because before a year ago I really never cared about guitars.

Hermanos Sanchis Lopez and Amalio Burget are also good choices.

aleksi -> RE: Next guitar (May 27 2009 6:51:14)

I havent played the profesor model but I played the concierto model and it felt really good. Ive also tryed one good estudio and some bad ones. I've noticed that the guitars from Hernandez are individuals so I advice you to try them out, you might find some good one.

it might be worth the wait. you'll be saving yourself money in the long run if you plan to get an anders caliber guitar anyways.

all this talk about new guitars is making me jealous! [:(] i was going to throw my guitar away because it sounded dead and uninspiring. then i changed the strings and now im sufficiently content. . . for now... [:(]

The sound is kind of inconsistent in Andal. Guitars "Esteso" models - I tried 3 of them couple years back and all 3 were very quiet and without a distinctive tone. Though I really like "Santos Hernandez" model guitar that you sold to Anton in Ottawa a while ago - it is probably the loudest guitar that I have ever tried.

Hello amigo's and amiga's,
just back from the store and I got myself a 2nd hand Juan Hernandez Professor Flamenca in an Eastman case for 800 euro's.

It's a real eye opener.... nice flamenco sound and even tuners that actually work.

I've tried a lot of different models in every price range, and at a certain point I just couldn't hear or feel the differences anymore. But that's fine, I am a beginner....but now a happy beginner!

Thanks.
Amazing what this upgrade did.
It's a lot easier to sit in the traditional position, I couldn't understand that weight would have such a big role in it.

Apparently all the things you guys take for granted I'm finding out at the moment. String height, weight, good tuners, wood type....I like it, it's like learning a new falsetta.

at_leo_87 -> RE: Next guitar (May 30 2009 6:35:42)

she's a beauty!
what are you going to do with your c3f?
what are those flute looking like things next to your guitar?

kozz -> RE: Next guitar (May 30 2009 10:53:10)

Thanks Anthony,
she is, I'm alreasy used to the orange colour [:D]
The 3F is gonna stay with me for a while...It's a nice guitar to take to the beach...

The one on the stand behind the normal flute is a shakuhachi, a japanese bamboo flute. Check out this master:

The other one lying under the plant is a bansuri, an bamboo flute from India. A friend of mine is now located in Mumbai and is sending me things over.
The next trip he's gonna take a set of tablas and a tanpura, a four string drone "guitar".

I've always got a fascination for flute's, it has something mystical, espacially the origin of flutes in different cultures. One thing they all got in common is that is should be healthy....unless guitar playing with blisters
