Jim Opfer -> Guitars and their feelings (May 18 2009 13:24:46)

I drove 900 miles on Saturday. 450 down to London and 450 back up.
I took 3 guitars to a dealer for him to sell for me.
Thing is, my other guitars now seem better than I remember they were before.
Do you think they might be getting a bit worried they'll be sold to, or perhaps they are just feeling relieved?
I don't know, strange things............guitars.

Hi Jim, just curious which guitars you're selling . If your reyes ever becomes available i would be very interested to say the least !! I'm based in the northwest of England . Cheers[:)]

Jim, you are very right about feeling that way. At one point I decided to sell my Devoe Negra sometime last year, I posted it on eBay. I had a lot of inquiries and one serious buyer who were almost ready to buy it. Thank God he backed off. I was selling it because I wanted to replace it with a Devoe Blanca. Since then, I played maybe 8 Devoe Blancas and none matched the sound and feeling of the one I got use to (my Negra). I said to myself, I must have been really stupid for trying to sell it. There is always a thing of regret when you part from one of your guitars no doubt.

BTW, I remember you owning a Reyes with Pegs and you were thinking of changing them to machine. Let me know if you still feel the same cause I found a solution for my Reyes with pegs. A great one.

yeah jim they have a habit of this , im also interested in what guitars and also what dealer ??

without changing the topic may i ask Tk, your Devoe what seperates it from other devoes, i mean, i have noticed a lot of them for sale , it seems a little strange they are up for grabs so often [8|]

You can check them out here:

75 Gerundino
87 Reyes

Full details still to be uploaded onto the web site.

tk - The Reyes with pegs is the one above. A truely fine guitar.

I decided I have too many guitars and it is not right to hoard them away in cases. Appointing an agent removes all the emotion and worry of selling + Miles Roberts is a very highly regarded dealer.

Cheers
Jim.

Well minordjango,

The wood combination of mine is Cedar top with indian back with pegs. The sound of it seems to be very different than the spruce Devoes I played. Ialso own anopther spruce Devoe with indian back and the Cedar's voice stands out just because it is different. I never said that it is better than the other Devoes, but it sure is different than the others. You can here it here:
