TANúñez -> 2003 Lefty Vicente Carrillo (Jul. 12 2004 14:51:40)

I'm selling my 2003 lefty Vicente Carrillo blanca. High grade Spruce top, Spanish cypress back and sides. Ebony fingerboard. 660mm / 53mm.

This guitar has very little playing wear as it is barely a year old. The action is low. Good volume, very responsive and good projection. Hard shell case included.

When the guitar was made Vicente wrote on the label "Para Tom, El Zurdo". For this reason I am pricing it to sell.

The guitar can be seen here:

If interested, contact info at(@)lafalseta.com

Really nice guitar mibe you should make a litlle sound demo to go with it ( oh thats right you didnt buy a mic [:D])

Hey is a shame cause i am left handed but i have gotten myself used to playing on the right hand side, so now i couldnt do it any other way.

This might be a stupid question but how hard is it to change to a right hand guitar can you just change the bridge and reverse the strings or is there more than that ?

Hi Flo,

On my guitar you can convert it by just switching the nut and saddle. Some guitars however, have a taper in the fingerboard and would screw things up if you tried to convert it.

There are some people that say that the bracing pattern MUST be symmetrical to convert but I don't buy that. Being left handed all my guitar before my Carrillo were right handed and some had asymmetrical bracing. I switched then and didn't notice any difference at all.

I have put my lefty Carrillo (which can be converted to right hand) on ebay and have lowered my original asking price if anyone is interested.

look like a nice guitar, I'm left handed, unfortunatly a bit beyond my budget.

TANúñez -> RE: 2003 Lefty Vicente Carrillo (Oct. 23 2004 13:36:41)

Hi Grant. Always nice to meet another lefty. Do you play a left handed guitar strung for a lefty or do you play a right handed guitar upside down?

Nice to meet you.

musicalgrant -> RE: 2003 Lefty Vicente Carrillo (Oct. 23 2004 16:14:09)

I used to turn the guitars upside down (the strings) and inside out LOL and then saved up for a hand made one that was made left handed, havn't looked back since L:OL

Not many lefties about is there?

TANúñez -> RE: 2003 Lefty Vicente Carrillo (Oct. 23 2004 16:30:28)

I'm sure there's plenty of lefties out but they are hind to find.

Hey Grant,
I can't see how you're not making any money out of this!
You're a really fine guitarist.
You've got a lot of precision in your playing that's hard to get.
"Tico Tico" is a difficult piece to play right, although it maybe sounds easy because of it's popularity.
And your own compositions, although not "Flamenco", are lovely and well played.
("If only one" was very reminiscent in mood of the old Fleetwood Mac's "Albatross")

Ordinary "Pop" guitarists/singers in pubs and clubs up here get around 100 quid a night, so playing three nights a week should give you plenty money to live on.
(I live on that!)

I think it's a matter of getting yourself organised (like Mike "Miguel de Maria" or Jon and his guitar friends do.)
If there's not much demand for guitarists in your town or area, then you could maybe think of moving away, or at least travelling further away from home to perform maybe?

Anyway Grant, your an excellent guitar player with both tone and sensitivity.

cheers

Ron

(BTW Thanks for the free advertising! Oh..and you play Juan Martin's Rumba far better than he does, frankly [:D])

musicalgrant -> RE: 2003 Lefty Vicente Carrillo (Oct. 24 2004 21:05:11)

Dear Ron

Thankyou for the positive feedback about the musics, I didn't realsise only one was like the albatross by fleetwood mac lol. I used a style of playing the rumba taught to me by a guy who played with gypsies in the south of france, well so he said. And found it gave a lot more room for playing around with especially when playing in restaurants etc..its a bit like having a paid break LOL.

Anyhow I've played a lot more intricate stuff than this but havn't recorded it yet, like the Mineras by Tomatito and La Ardila, well maybe I'l pull my finger out now and get more organised. Juan Martin's Rumba lol, i think so too[;)]

Good Advice Ron and thankyou.
