Alo,

I was just wondering if anybody had any opinions on any Almansa guitars, specifically the Almansa 447 flamenco.

I've been studying flamenco for about a month now, just on an old classical, but I want to purchase a flamenco guitar.

I've tried out a couple, and so far I really like the Almansa 447.

I'm just curious to know what other people may think of it.

Thanks!

I haven't played any of them. I have heard some good things about them.

If you like it, I don't see why our opinions should matter much. The player chooses the guitar that suits him or her. [:)]

I rented an Almansa for a couple of weeks while I was on the road. It was about a $350 Canadian model. I don't remember the model number and it was a classical model if I remember right. I was not particularly impressed. I've played a Lucida Concerto for a few years that is vastly superior to the Almansa I played and of course, my new Green blows both away but then it better. Anyway, the Almansa I rented seemed to have a lot of dead notes with little sustain and to my ears did not play very in tune up the neck. I would think you could do better for $350. Just my opinion.

Hi Josh,

the Almansa 447 was my first Flamenco guitar. Before that I played an Almansa 201 (classical guitar wirth cedar top).
The 447 has solid back sides from cypres and solid spruce for the top.
As I bought it, it costs 639 Euro, now it´s about 730 Euro, which is not very much money for a solid flamenco guitar.
If you like it, buy it. The sound is OK for the price but nothing more. A beginner guitar for a small budget. Not very loud.
I played the 447 for four month and then I bought a Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 2F which is much better IMO.
I was very a very beginner and doesn´t realise, that with this guitar something was wrong: The top was a little bit like a valley. In fact the difference between the strings and the top was too much for a flamenco guitar (about 14mm!) or with a deeper saddle the strings vibrate on the stringboard. Today I would say that you can´t play on this guitar. As I bought it, I was so lucky to have a flamenco guitar that I don´t realise it. One day I played it before my window on a sunny day. I looked in the sound hole and with the bright light I could see that the guitar was broken inside! I´ve spoken to the Almansa factory and the shop where I bought it and they told me that this is an defect in manufacture and they gave me my money back.
If you wan´t to buy it-check it seriously. It´s a real factory guitar.

I would like to tell you much more about the guitar, but my english ist so horrible, sorry.

I have an Almansa 449 blanca guitar. It is wonderful. It is not loud, but a very sweet sounding guitar. Fit and finish are first rate and after making minor adjustments to the action it plays great! I also was going for the 447 based on looks, but got the 449 at a price too good to pass up. If the guitar sounds good to you go for it! I think that they make a fine product.

This was my main road axe until I got my DeVoe. It is no DeVoe, but it is a worthy guitar. I have a buddy who recorded his whole song library using the Almansa.
