Wannabee -> Sevillanas or Vals flamenco? (Mar. 14 2009 1:11:15)

Great piece by Gerardo Nunez, but why is it called by 2 different names?

I thought a Vals flamenco was a totally different palo...please enlighten me.

signed...the clueless one.

This piece was orginally called "Sevilla", but was a modern composition of Gerardo to give his impression of Sevilla. It is not a literal sevillanas that one could dance to. Much like Albeniz who did the same thing. In the middle of the piece is a section where he plays bulerias remates. The rhythms all fit together nice, hence "vals"....
